The main attraction of this event is a talent show that will showcase our very own Robofest contestants! Students can perform any talent they can dream of! This might include things such as: reading a poem, singing, dancing, tai chi, or even a talent that is native to your country to demonstrate new cultures to some of our students.

RoboParade Traffic rules (Qualifying Test)

1. Robot must be fully autonomous with an official rear bumper 2. Robot must have a reliable program to follow a black line on a bright surface. 3. Robot must have the ability to detect a vehicle in front of it and stop; then automatically re-start when

the vehicle in front has cleared. 4. Robot must display current speed and the speed must be greater than 9cm / sec and less than or equal

to 18 cm / sec 5. Length of a unit must be less than 35cm 6. Each team member must complete a survey

Tentative Schedule (Note – times are approximate)

4:30 pm Team Check-In begins. Teams may practice on the 2 official fields.

5:30 pm Welcome by Jr BottleSumo Group 1 Chairperson 5:40 pm

Adults are asked to leave pit before unveiling. Unveiling how to start a game by Chairperson. 30 min work-time begins.

6:10 pm Impounding of robots begins. Weight and size will be checked. Each robot must have ID tag. 6:20 pm Qualifying Time Trials begin on the table dedicated for each group in parallel; Each team will

have max 120 seconds. If the robot falls off the table, automatically 121 seconds will be assigned. Each table will use its own timer. Expected max time taken: 3 min x 8 = 24+ minutes; Robots must be returned to the impounding table.

6:50 pm Teams can pick up robots. 30 min work-time begins. Seeded single elimination tournament bracket for each group announced.

7:20 pm 2nd Impounding of robots begins. Weight and size will be re-checked. Each robot must have ID tag.

7:30 pm Single elimination matches for each group begin on the dedicated table for the group Average time for a match: 4 min; Max 10 matches x 4 min = 40 minutes

8:10 pm Semi-final match for the room. The winner will compete with the winner of the other room on Sat, May 19 at the gym at 3pm.

8:20 pm Closing & Award Ceremony – See below Announcements section Certificate of participation as well participation medal will be awarded to all contestants. Group picture.

• Trophy Winners including Time Trial winners will be recognized on Saturday May 19 at noon in the gym

• All the participants will receive a medal today. Please bring your medal on Sat May 19 for another group picture in the gym around 4pm.

The objective of BottleSumo is to EITHER be the first robot to find and intentionally push a two-liter bottle (filled with 1 liter of water) off the table and survive on the table at least 3 seconds OR be the last robot remaining on the table at least 3 seconds. The bottle will be placed at an unknown location that is the same distance away from the two robots.

How to start the game (the way to start the robot moving) is an unknown task that is unveiled 30 minutes prior to impounding robots.

Adults are asked to leave pit before unveiling. Unveiling how to start a game by Chairperson. 30 min work-time begins.

6:10 pm Impounding of robots begins. Weight and size will be checked. Each robot must have ID tag. 6:20 pm Qualifying Time Trials begin on the dedicated table for each group; Each team will have max

120 seconds. If the robot falls off the table, automatically 121 seconds will be assigned. Each table will use its own timer. Expected max time taken: 3 min x 8 = 24+ minutes; Robots must be returned to the impounding table.

6:50 pm Teams can pick up robots. 30 min work-time begins. Seeded single elimination tournament bracket for each group announced.

7:20 pm 2nd Impounding of robots begins. Weight and size will be re-checked. Each robot must have ID tag.

7:30 pm Single elimination match begins on 2 tables in parallel Average time for a match: 4 min; Max 8 matches x 4 min = 32+ minutes

8:05 pm Last Match for Junior Group 1. Winner of this Group 1 will compete with the winner of Group 2 on Sat, May 19 at the gym at 3pm.

AtBC Game Synopsis: Your mission is to develop an autonomous robot that will collect tennis balls on Tennis Court Table and put them into a Ball Box. Points are earned based on number of balls in the box, inside the Box Fence, on the robot, or outside the Tennis Court Table. Additional points will be earned if Trash Bottles are moved completely off the Tables. All the tasks should be done completely autonomously within 2 minutes without any external help. The procedure on how to end a Game is unveiled on the competition day. At the World Championship at Lawrence Technological University in Michigan, there will be additional unknown task(s) that require program changes and/or additions. Any robot kits may be used.

Wanted: PCA (People’s Choice Awards) Judges Registered Robofest spectators will decide People's Choice Awards (PCA) for RoboParade, Exhibition, and RoboArts categories. PCA Judges may win raffle prizes such as Google Homes. Drawing will be held on Sat, June 3 around 3:40pm. A PCA Judge should be 10 and up. Drawing will be held on Sat. May 19 around 3:30pm, in the Gym. You must be present to win the following raffle prizes.
