We have compiled this Competitor Guide to help make sure that you know all the details you need to know coming into the show, so please read all the information provided and if you are still not sure on anything please don’t hesitate to call or send an email.

The o�cial registration is Friday 5th May from 5.00pm-6.00pm in the Grand Ballroom at

The Sofitel Broadbeach, 81 Surf Parade, Broadbeach (opposite Jupiters Casino from the

Highway).

“Dress to Impress” as photographers/media will be present at the registration and the

competitor meeting. WBFF Pro athletes will also interview competitors on the red carpet,

so be sure to look your best.

Even though you have registered online and paid your fees, at this o�cial registration, you

will submit your bio form and receive your competitor number (button). Please keep this in

a safe place as additional buttons cannot be provided. Buttons should be placed on the

left hip in order for judges to read competitor numbers clearly. If you are in two categories

you will keep the same number for each category.

You will also receive the show running order, your gift bag and WBFF apparel.

The competitor’s meeting will immediately follow registration at approximately 6.00pm.

Please note that everyone must be registered and be seated for the meeting by 6.00pm so

please arrive earlier to allow yourself enough time to register.

The running order for the show will be in the envelope you receive at registration with your

competitor number. Please note that we cannot give exact times for categories to go on

stage. The length of time allocated for each category depends on the number of

competitors in that category. We do not rush the judging and need to make sure all

competitors have time to show their physiques at their best. The backstage team will give

The Sofitel Broadbeach


The preliminary (prejudging) show starts at

10.00am. All competitors are required to be

at the Jupiters Casino by 9.00am to ensure

the show starts on time.

If you have booked in with the o�cial WBFF

beauty services, you will be able to access the

required. Head into the main theatre and

towards the stage. The access to backstage

dressing rooms is via a door to the left in front

of the stage.

Competitors are required to show their

competitor ID to gain access to the backstage

areas at the show. Only those competing are

permitted in the backstage area to ensure

there is enough room for everyone and that

the show runs e�ciently and to schedule.

There will be signs backstage to direct you to the dressing rooms, tanning rooms, bathrooms

and chill out lounge. WBFF sta� will be available to direct you to all areas backstage.

At the preliminary show, every category is required to wear their swimwear / bikini only.

Evening wear or themewear will be worn at the evening show only.

At the preliminary show, competitors perform a T Walk on stage, one at a time before being

called forward as a group for comparison quarter turns for the judges. See the floor plan

below for how the T Walk is performed on stage.

Competitor number buttons are to be pinned to the left hip so judges can clearly see the number for both preliminary show and evening shows.

A smart dress code applies at all WBFF shows in the front areas of the auditorium. No tracksuits, singlets, robes, swimwear or thongs are to be worn in this area.

The evening show starts at 5.00pm. All competitors must be at the venue by 4.00pm.


Competitors are required to show their competitor ID to gain access to the backstage areas at the show. Only those competing are permitted in the backstage area to ensure there is enough room for everyone and that the show runs e�ciently and to schedule.

At 5.00pm all competitors will walk the stage in their swimwear / bikini for an opening Gala show for the media, photographers and audience.

The individual categories will commence immediately after the opening gala.

Diva Bikini Models, Diva Fitness Models and Men’s Fitness Model categories have 2 rounds at the evening show.

OFFICAL TANNING SERVICE

Fitness Tan is the o�cial tanning service for The WBFF worldwide. Since our last show, Fitness Tan

have developed a specific formula for our shows in Australia to accommodate our stage lighting and

a formula to give a deeper tan than previously.

Fitness Tan will ensure all competitors have the correct tan to meet the WBFF Australia judging

criteria. Traditional contest tans are too dark for the WBFF judging criteria.

Once you have booked your tan, Fitness Tan will call you to discuss their skin type and individual

tanning needs for the show.

Fitness Tan will be at Sofitel Broadbeach on the Thursday and Friday prior to the show. To book your tanning appointment, email [email protected]

For show day, skin oils are not required and should be avoided, as a natural even look is preferred

over a look that is too greasy and oily.Page 7


Tanning is $100 AUD. Fitness Tan also have skin prep and base coat products available on their website. Fitness Tan recommend using their skin prep and base coats for best results. Fitness Tan recommend only using their products especially if you are wanting to apply a base coast prior to tanning. Other at home tanning products/brands can interfere with the final result of your fitness tan due to di�erent ingredients not reacting with Fitness Tan products. Please contact fitness tan if you have any questions or concerns.

OFFICIAL HAIR & MAKEUP SERVICESWorld renowned hair and beauty specialist Tegan Woodford and her team are the o�cial hair and beauty service for the WBFF Australia. It is not compulsory to use this service, but the WBFF strongly recommends it to ensure all ladies have the correct makeup and hair styling to meet the WBFF judging criteria. Hair and makeup is done at the Casino in the dressing rooms on show day.

Tegan Woodford’s team of hair and make up artists are the only beauty team allowed backstage at the Casino. Tegan’s team have run sheets and will make sure your hair and makeup are ready prior to needing to be on stage. The hair and beauty team have worked with all WBFF Australia shows and all understand the requirements for our stage and lighting. Hair and makeup is $200 AUD. The hair and beauty team will also be backstage prior to the evening show if you wish to get touch-ups before the night show. Touch ups for hair or make up are $10 each (cash only please for touch ups).

OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHERDallas Olsen is the O�cial Photographer for the WBFF Australia. Book in your photo shoot early to avoid disappointment. The team from Dallas Olsen Studios will have photographers seated at the centre of the judges table taking stage photos.

Dallas Olsen will also be set up backstage on show day for all o�cial competitor photos.MMH & Oxygen magazines will also be scouting for models for features and covers!

Please be sure to get some photos taken by Dallas Olsen’s team when you exit the stage as these

images will be used on our social media pages and also in WBFF Australia’s new online magazine.

The Diva Bikini Model is primarily a beauty contest whilst also displaying slight muscle tone and definition. Competitors are judged upon their overall beauty, body shape, symmetry and tone.

Competitors must be able to present themselves in a classy feminine and tasteful way that is marketable.

This competition consists of two rounds, bikini round and evening gown round.

ROUND #1 BIKINI ROUNDThe bikini round consists of competitors wearing a two piece bikini of any style that best compliments your physique. No thongs or G-strings are allowed.Competitors will be required to perform a runway presentation in the form of a T walk. Models will also be required to perform quarter turns for the judges.Attention is focused on beauty of face, figure, physical fitness, and the confidence with which each competitor carries herself.

ROUND #2 EVENING GOWN ROUNDIn the evening gown round, competitors are required to wear a floor length, fitted style, classy gown.Competitors will be required to perform a runway presentation.

The Diva Fitness Model category is for those competitors who display more muscle tone and definition than those in the Diva Bikini Model Category, without carrying as much muscle or definition of that of a Women’s Figure competitor.

Competitors for the Fitness Diva Model category are being judged on their sense of style, poise, overall beauty and stage presence as well as display a fit and toned physique.

Competitors will be required to perform a runway presentation in the form of a T walk. Models will also be required to perform quarter turns for the judges.

Competitors must be able to present themselves in a classy feminine and tasteful way that is marketable.

This competition consists of two rounds, the theme wear round and the bikini round.

ROUND #1 THEME WEAR ROUNDThe theme wear round consists of competitors wearing theme wear of their choice (think Victoria Secrets style theme wear). Theme wear must compliment your physique and be tasteful and classy.

As a WBFF Diva Fitness Model we require female competitors to bring creative and glamorous theme wear to the stage. Di�erent ideas may be, Carnival theme, Vegas Show Girls, Victoria Secret glamour, this round should not become confused with a sportswear theme round. This is definitely a very creative and glamorous round for the female delegates to display their physical beauty and conditioning.

The Figure category consists of two rounds. The Symmetry Round and Group Comparisons round. There is no routine round in the WBFF figure competition. Females are encouraged to display their physiques in a graceful and feminine way which represents a desirably lean and healthy lifestyle; a look that is more natural, sexy, and athletic. The Women’s Figure category is for those competitors that carry more muscle and definition than Diva Bikini or Fitness models, without the extreme muscle of a bodybuilder. There is no music required for the figure competitors to prepare and hand in for this competition category. Figure models present themselves on stage one at a time and perform a T walk prior to comparisons.

ROUND #1 SYMMETRY ROUNDIn this round competitors are expected to wear a two piece swimsuit. Competitors will be required to perform a series of quarter turns to their right, which will be directed by the head judge. All sides of their physique will be compared for symmetry, aesthetics, and presentation.cal fitness, and the confidence with which each competitor carries herself.

ROUND #2 COMPARISONS ROUNDIn this round competitors are expected to wear a two piece swim suit that compliments their personal style. Competitors will be judged against others in their category, based on athleticism by assessing the degree of firmness, symmetry, proportion and the overall healthy physical appearance including complexion, poise and overall presentation.

Male Fitness Models are to show their physical attributes that project a fit and healthy lifestyle, a lean, well-proportioned, toned and healthy looking body is the look that is wanted.

Male Fitness models will be required to perform a runway presentation in the form of a T walk in the competition rounds listed below. Models will also be required to perform quarter turns for the judges. There are no weight limitations for this category.

ROUND #1 BEACH WEAR/SWIMWEAR ROUNDSquare cut spandex style swim shorts are the suggested choice for Male Fitness Model competitors.

ROUND #2 RUNWAY ROUND EVENING WEARAll male competitors are required to wear formal attire. Jeans and a t-shirt are unacceptable, and will be marked down. All males are expected to present themselves in a runway style fashion for this category. Couture GQ style dress is suggested.

The WBFF will be judging males on their masculine style, marketability and stage presence. Male models will also be judged on their ability to display their character, style and self-confidence.

WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER COMPETING WITH THE WBFF? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM ANY

OTHER OUT THERE?

The WBFF is di�erent from any other organization out there to date.

It was founded by a professional athlete, so we understand the needs as well as the ups and

downs of all competitors. We will utilise our relationships with all our partners to create

sponsorship and marketing opportunities for the competitors and all of its members, in an industry

that is constantly growing. Our events are second to none and they are the most professionally

produced shows in the industry.

WHAT CATEGORIES ARE THERE?

Please see each individual category for a full description.

WHO CAN COMPETE IN WBFF EVENTS?

Any individuals at any level are invited to compete in our events. From amateur to Pro level. Any

questions you have pertaining to your competition prep will be provided to you. Just email us with

any inquiries info@wb�shows.com.au

Amateur Competitors - Yes, the WBFF allows any of its members to compete in any event they

choose as an amateur competitor. As an amateur competitor you cannot be suspended from

competing with multiple organizations.

WBFF Pro Athletes - WBFF Pro athletes are exclusive to the WBFF upon choice of the individual.

We hold our Pro Status with high regard.

IF I WIN AN AMATEUR CATEGORY, WILL I OBTAIN “PRO STATUS”?

A competitor who competes in our show may be awarded their WBFF Pro Card at the judge’s

discretion, if they display the qualities of a WBFF Pro. Winning your division does not automatically

guarantee a Pro Card.

I WOULD LIKE TO COMPETE IN MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY. WILL I HAVE ENOUGH TIME

TO DO BOTH?

Yes contestants can do crossovers.

ARE THERE ANY BACKSTAGE RULES?

No alcohol is permitted at any WBFF event.

This is not the image we want to portray. No alcohol is allowed backstage at any WBFF event.

Competitors caught with alcohol will be disqualified.

All competitors are responsible for their personal belongings. Please be selective in regards to

what you bring to a show. The WBFF or venues will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Due to the large number of competitors at WBFF shows, there is limited space backstage. We

provide helpers for competitors backstage, therefore no trainers, friends, family members or

assistants are allowed in the backstage area. Tickets for friends/family can be purchased through

the Arts Centre Gold Coast.

WBFF shows run professionally, and therefore need everything to work e�ciently backstage.

Please have everything prepared before you arrive.

All competitors are expected to respect their fellow competitor, we want to create a positive

atmosphere backstage where everyone can feel comfortable and at ease.

The WBFF will not tolerate inexcusable behaviour backstage. Please help out one another to

make the whole event a positive and memorable event for all.

WHAT TYPE OF CONTEST COLOUR CAN I WEAR?

The o�cial tanning company is Fitness Tan. It is COMPULSORY that all competitors use our o�cial

tanning team to ensure all competitors have correct tan for the WBFF judging criteria.


ARE HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTISTS AVAILABLE?

The world renowned Tegan Woodford will have a team available on show day for hair and makeup

services. It is not compulsory to use this hair/makeup service, but the WBFF strongly recommends

using it to ensure the highest integrity of the brand quality for all WBFF events.


WHEN CAN I REGISTER?

Registration closes 2 days prior to the show (12 May). Anyone registering after this will incur an

additional $25 late fee.

Competitors get a free facebook and Instagram header when they register.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Our shows are prestigious red carpet events. In keeping with the WBFF brand and standards, all

competitors must be dressed smartly at registration/competitor meeting and in the front of the

venue and auditorium. No thongs, track pants, singlets etc are permitted to be worn (except for

when you are in the backstage area only).
