WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG INVESTOR BY DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND COMMERCE AND SEBI

One day workshop was organized by Department of Management Studies, Mewar University in collaboration with SEBI, Security Exchange Board of India on 8th September,2012 for the students of management, commerce, engineering & also for graduates. The resource person was Dr.Dheeraj Jain. A module of the course material was given to the participants.

The topics covered were:1. Introduction to Savings & Investments2. Basics of Budgeting, Inflation Effects on Investments, Risk and Return, Power of Compounding & Time Value of Money3. Choosing the Right Investment Options4. Asset Allocation Strategy5. Savings & Investment Related Products such as Banks, Government Schemes, Bonds, Debentures, Company Fixed Deposits, Mutual Funds, Equity

Shares, Depository system, Investment Philosophies etc.6. Protection Related Products like Insurance Policies, Health Insurance7. Borrowing Related Products Personal Loans, Home Loans, Reverse Mortgage, Loans against Securities, Credit Card Debt, Steps to Avoid Excess Debt8. Investor Protection & Grievances Redressal Mechanism. Etc. The objectives of workshops were:

1. To improve the financial acumen of students while learning to identify and prioritize their personal money management goals.

2. To understand the tradeoffs between personal consumption and delayed gratification.

3. The course is designed to prepare students to become better stewards and contribute to society by taking responsibility for themselves and their financial future.

4. To impart the theoretical concepts on financial management .5. To make students fully independent & create wealth through property.
