Competence Center at the MAS: What we did

We chose 12 books and digitized over 1500

pages according to the following criteria:

science related, researcher, ownership

Page 13: Working with digitized Mongolian Cultural Heritage

Judrem by Jalkhanz khutaktu Damdinbazar 1923, 618 pages

What we did: Virtual museum & Exhibition

EXHIBITIONS ARE USUALLY

ONE-TIME EVENTS

Mongolians are celebrating 100th

Anniversary of Enthronement of the

VIII Bogd Khan this year. A series of 12

exhibitions will be held in the Winter

Palace of the Bogd Khan.

OPEN ACCESS & LEGAL ISSUES

Page 17: Working with digitized Mongolian Cultural Heritage

Technology related problems

Even though National Library of

Mongolia digitized a lot of cultural

heritage books, there is no digital

library system installed for the books.

The ACIP project has stalled and it

needs to be renewed in 2011

Conclusion

If we help people with better technology in the

digitization of cultural heritage they should

understand its importance and

conveniences therefore

more and more

resources would become

openly accessible for everyone in need.
