The mission of the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency is to improve teaching and learning for all students through active partnerships and assertive leadership in a climate of mutual respect.
Governance:Nine directors elected by local school boards for four-year
terms.
Each director district represents an equally populated portion of the AEA.
Directors must reside in the area they represent and may not be employed by a school they represent.

GOALS:1. Increase the percentage of low socioeconomic status,
Individual Education Plan, and minority students achieving reading proficiency in grades 4, 8, and 11.
2. Increase the percentage of low socioeconomic status, Individual Education Plan, and minority students achieving math proficiency in grades 4, 8, and 11.
3. Increase the percentage of low socioeconomic status, Individual Education Plan, and minority students achieving science proficiency in grades 5, 8, and 11.
Why do we need to restructure?The current growth rate is not sufficient for students and
schools to reach their respective goals.Our current system is producing the maximum results it is
capable of producing.Therefore, if we expect to meet our goals, our system must be
restructured.
