Giving Thanks

The leaves have changed colors and fallen from the trees. There is a chill in the air. This is the time of year we pause to be thankful to God as individuals for all He has blessed us with throughout the year. We have much to be thankful for at the Chamber as well. We have enjoyed another successful year of working with local business and industry to promote Berea as a great place to work and live. We experienced what was probably the most

successful Spoonbread Festival ever thanks to the hard work of count-less volunteers and Chamber staff.

It will soon be time soon to celebrate the accomplishments of the Cham-ber and individuals throughout Berea. On Thursday, November 16

th at

6:30 we will host the 2017 Berea Chamber of Commerce Awards Ban-quet at Berea Church of God. Please make plans to attend and contact the Chamber office for tickets.

We plan to finish the calendar year strong at the Chamber as we contin-ue to provide opportunities to network and promote local businesses through membership meetings, Chamber Coffees, and the annual Christ-mas Parade on Saturday, December 2

Berea’s Geocaching Events Drawing International Attention

As a result of a very successful Geocaching Weekend and the launching of our 2nd GeoTour, the staff at Geocach-ing.com located in Seattle, Washington invited Jennifer Na-pier, our coordinator of the Berea Chamber’s geocaching events, to participate in a webinar as a presenter for their Best Practices. On Thursday, November 9th Jennifer and another geo-cacher from Germany, known for his gadget caches, shared their stories and answered questions for partici-pants who logged in from around the world to learn from each other. Additionally, our success with geocaching has caught the attention of Kentucky’s tourism leaders in Frankfort as they will be visiting Berea at the end of the month to learn more about this growing sport. Congratulations, Jennifer Napier for pioneering this event in Berea, Kentucky and putting us on a global stage!
