Jeannette Rowlett, President Berea Chamber of Commerce 859-248-2505 or [email protected]
was already tired, just from listening. He is a great actor, teacher, and businessman. Try to see one of the plays and take a friend with you.
Things are getting very busy and several committees have met. The Rook Committee has already had their event on Friday, April 26th. We will hear from them at our next Board meeting on the 30th of May. If you haven’t gotten together with your committee, be sure to get together and get your budget ready. There are going to be some cuts and we need to know what your plans are for your events and where the money is coming from to put on the event and how much you think it will be bring in as profit.
We need to brainstorm and work together to make sure this the Berea Chamber of Commerce can give the community some great events, but at the same time bring a sufficient amount to keep our budget in the black.
The Executive Committee has made some changes concerning the office and how we are going to update our financial program and our daily deposits. All of this will be discussed at the 30th meeting. The old saying, “if you keep doing the same thing, you will get the same results” is very true, so we need to see what we can do to make it better for all concerned. We are going to look at the way we bill and collect dues in the future, so if you have suggestions, please contact one of the members of the executive com-mittee. You can call my number any time.
As I have said before, Berea is a great city. We have a great group of business people, who need to be recognized and told they are appreciated. The chamber needs to look at its’ mission and see if we are on track and what can we do better.
Hope you will make time for this meeting on the 30th, which is the last Thursday. Please clear your sched-ule now and try to make the meeting. We cannot move forward, if our board doesn’t attend and help us. Looking forward to all our events, new event planning and having a great year and a very successful one. Sincerely,
Hope this letter finds everyone happy and healthy, on this cool and rainy day. The Chamber membership meeting for April was held at the Spotlight Theatre. We had a great meeting and want to thank the Berea Postmaster for being our guest. Information on bulk mailings, using direct and selected areas was very helpful, in ex-plaining different ways and the cost to do these types major mail-ings.
Chad Hembree was a very gracious host, as always. We had great food and deserts. There should never be a weekend, where anyone says, “I don’t have anything to do.” The schedule for this year is a full one. When Chad finished with all that he and the staff of the Spotlight was doing with all ages of children and adults, I

Golfers & Sponsors Needed
Our Golf Scramble Planning Committee, chaired by David Gilliam and Bud Montgomery, has been hard at work over the last few weeks planning our 27th Annual Golf Scramble to be played at Berea Coun-try Club on Friday, June 7, 2019. I would like to encourage our Chamber members to make up a team and enter the event. Often times, you have golfers within your organ-ization, who would love to get outdoors and represent your business. You might also utilize the opportunity to enter a team comprised of some of your best customers or vendors. As you can see on page 11 of this newsletter, we have a variety of ways to sponsor the event and promote your business to our golfers. You may want to be a hole sponsor or possibly a card or cart spon-sor. Each year, some of the best fun is had by hole sponsors who come out and set up a display or activity on the hole to promote their business. If you are not a golfer, you might also consider volunteering day of the event. Our planning committee and staff would certainly appreci-ate the extra help. Many hands make light work! Sincerely,
David
