BDIC Mission
BDIC was established in 2011 with a particular focus on the formation of graduates with the
creative, innovation and entrepreneurial skills to thrive in an increasingly globalised knowledge-
and technology-intensive society.

In academic year 2015-16 BDIC had 470 students • enrolled on 3 Pogrammes • governed by 3 UCD Colleges and Schools and
coordinated by 3 UCD BDIC programme coordinators
• with 32 modules delivered by 14 UCD lecturers from 6 UCD Schools
• managed and administered by 5 UCD BDIC staff

• First cohort of 22 IoTE students to return to Ireland to complete stage 4 of Internet of Things Engineering

• New BDIC office space in BJUT –Teaching Building 4 - elements of the design being drawn from the experience UCD has gained in Dublin in creating flexible working and interactive spaces for student learning

• Develop an understanding of factors influencing student decision making
• BDIC recruit from 18 provinces including Beijing
Advanced LevelFor universities offering less traditional courses
Tier 1~40% of students are achieve Tier 1 cut off line in GaoKao
Tier 2Remaining ~60% of students are below this cut off line
Generally speaking universities are classified as either Tier 1 or Tier 2 universities but it can be a case that a joint programme may be a recruiting from Tier 2 but exist in a Tier 1 university
