Requirements for the Business
The entity must be a business
Not-for-profit businesses that are engaged in commerce are eligible
The emphasis will be on making customized training investments in high growth/high value industries

Businesses must be stable Business must be current on all tax
obligations
Requirements for the Employees
Training for new hires or incumbent workforce
Training for full-time employeesEmployees must be considered permanent

Funds awarded will be expended on program activities for the Alameda County Workforce Investment Area (ACWIA)
Employees must meet all the WIA formula funds eligibility requirements of the (ACWIA)
Ability to serve employees who have not been enrolled into WIA and are not case managed

Workforce Investment Act Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Intensive Services under Title I of the Workforce Investment Act you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
You must reside in Alameda County (Outside of Oakland) You must be a citizen of the United States or be legally
authorized to work in the United States.Documentation: You will be required to provide documentation of your status.
If you are a male, citizen or non-citizen born after December 31, 1959 you must be in compliance with Selective Service Registration Requirements.
Documentation: You may need to provide documentation of your status-or-we may be able to verify your status on-line.
Eligibility Requirements continued:
You must meet the eligibility requirements for one of the five targeted populations:
Laid-off due to a plant closureLaid-off workerPreviously self-employedDisplaced homemakerLow incomeDocumentation: You will be required to verify
your eligibility for one of these 5 categories

You must have a Social Security NumberDocumentation: Your Social Security Card.The employee’s hourly wage cannot exceed
