• To apply for a Level 3 course you will need:

• English, Maths or Science at C grade or above

• You will need a B or above in English, Maths or Science if you want to study them at A level. (this may apply to other subjects as well – check with the colleges)

• You will need at least a total of 5 different subjects at C or above

• Any BTECs you are doing will have to be a Merit or Distinction grade

• Also at least 3 other GCSEs at D-E grade

£3.72 per hour for 16-17 year olds £5.03 per hour for 18-20 year olds

£6.31 per hour for workers aged 21 +

An apprentice minimum wage of £2.68 /hr.

14 & 15 year olds:•3 hours a day (not before 7am after 7pm)

•18 hours a week maximum•8 hours a day at weekends

16 & 17 year olds (once left school):Sixteen- and 17-year-olds may be employed for unlimited hours in any occupation other than those declared hazardous by the Secretary of Labour.(meat slicers, saws, patty forming machines, grinders, or choppers), commercial mixers and certain power-driven bakery machines.
