Work experience placements for school students
Workplace health and safety short course
It is mandatory for all students participating in work experience to understand their obligations relating to workplace health and safety (WHS) prior to commencing work experience.
Students must provide evidence of successfully completing a WHS course relevant to their intended work experience placement industry. e.g. certificate of completion of WHS course, White Card.
Choose one of the below three options to meet your WHS training requirements for work experience.
☐ Option 1: Construction White Card
Required for work experience in Construction, Plumbing, Electrical or occupations where you will be entering an
operational construction zone. This course is delivered face-to-face by local by Registered Training Organisations (RTO).
There would be a registration process and a fee payable to the RTO involved. You will need to source a trainer and obtain
this qualification prior to work experience.
