(Single Entrace).Occupies a steep,

rocky islet connected to the Laconian coast by a bridge.

When was Movenvasia built? The castle of Monemvasia was built in the 6th century

a.c. by the Laconians seeking refuge from the Slavic and the Avaric invasion of Greece.

Monemvasia's nickname is the Gibraltar of the East or The Rock!
