President’s Page Hope you all welcomed in the New Year with good news and we find you safe and well. Everybody seems to want everything done by Christmas and suddenly realise that December is already here. I like many of the members had a rush on of jobs all to be done yesterday!

Congratulations to Alex Trotter, the Tom Tacey Award and Janet Barnes, the Encouragement Award for their achievements. All had a good time at the Christmas dinner as I heard no complaints. There are more news items than usual this month, so we will include photos and a full report on the Christmas Function in our next newsletter. We have already had good Raffle sales at I.G.A. and the Toolamba Lions Christmas Festival, and again as I write this, I.G.A is on again today and tomorrow. When you receive your Raffle Duty Roster and if you can’t make the time set, please arrange with another club member to do a swap. You will also find the Wood Show Duty Roster for members demonstrating. It should read 2016 not 2015 (time for a new wood show organiser). With the duties nominated please let me know if I have it wrong so we can reorganise your duty. Thanks to Perrie and members who assisted with the Dust Control update. Len

TOOLAMBA LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

Saturday the 28th November 8 of us woodies trekked across the causeway to the an-nual Toolamba lions club Christmas festival. After setting up, Geoff Pinky and myself started turning out rolling pins and Christmas trees for giveaways. these items proved to be very popular with all the Christmas trees and a lot of rollers as well as baseball bats and plastic bag handles. Chris and Len were busy doing raffle sales with Glenda while Geoff and Helen manned the sales table. Annie Baker certainly had her work cut out for her and she ended up burning 101 names onto bats, trees, rollers and bag handles. I had to love Geoff Bakers artwork on the trees too as it was mayhem at some stages. Len had a weird request from the ice-cream man and turned him a pine ice-cream much to the delight of the recipient please Len, next time say we all had a go at turning and we might all get free ice creams too. So, at the end of the night we packed up and came back to the clubrooms to unload and count our takings. The total figures are as follows toy sales $35 and raffle sales $73 so it was successful to be there after all Thanks to the members who attended the demo it was great fun with some great com-pany and quite a few giggles.
