Dear Friends.

Wow! David the kids and I just returned from a Wonderful

- “Wonder-filled” holiday in Indonesia! We’ve been to

Bali before, bur we wanted explore West Java. Too much

see and do! ... we plan to go back soon and take in what

we missed. The kids love it! The people are so friendly and

kind, so welcoming and as curious about us as we were

about them. Many speak English, but it was fun to learn

new words in Bahasa Indonesia and Sundanese (the

language of West Java). We bought too much stuff and had

to ship it home by post (inexpensive! - you can buy things

cheaply and the post office will wrap and ship them at

low prices too!) Wow! Wow!

David wants to plan his next company conference in West

Java, (Great hotels and golf!) and Joey is thinking that it

would be fun to study here for a year. Bandung’s got great

universities - and in English, no less! Betsy got the clothes

and shoes she needs for starting college next fall! Wow!

Designer clothes at bargain prices! You know me, I bought

baskets, handcrafts and batik, exotic teas and coffees. I

brought some home for you.

Let’s keep this a secret for a while... there are not that

many tourists in West Java yet.. not like Bali - so you see

real things, real people and real Indonesian traditions!

You and Jim really should consider it for you next

vacation!

combination for tea growing and for a

refreshing visit to one of our many tea

estates.

Picking the best tea leaves is traditionally

a woman`s occupation and with their

friends beside them, they grace the hills

in their colorful traditional grab and

peaked straw hats. Wonder-filled hills

The Istana Palace of Bogor

Built in the early 19th century, the

palace, or Istana of Bogor is still used

by the president of Indonesia for

originally a mountain retreat, one of

the 6 existing Istana in the country.

A place of fine architecture, history

and fine arts, a stop at the Istana will

enrich your visit to city.

为皇甫贵人休憩之坻，沿用至今仍

为当今印尼总统召开国际会议及重

大外事活动的活动场所。皇宫外绿

草成荫，鹿群悠哉，皇宫内金碧辉

煌，奇异珍藏艺术品让游客充分感

受到印度尼西亚由古至今的绚丽历

史长河。

沙爹大厦

远观好似一束烤肉串肃立在屋顶，沙

爹大厦是西爪哇的象征性标志之一，

也是万隆人喜爱的建筑之一。沙爹大

厦是西爪哇省长和副省长的官邸所在

地，同时周末也对公众游客开放参

观。登上大厦顶层，万隆城市全景和

覆舟火山美景尽收眼底。

The Sate Building

So – called for the “sate stick “doming its

roof, the Gedung Sate is the beloved

monument of Bandung and symbol of

west java for the entry province. Located

in the capital of Bandung, it remains the

offices for the governor and vice

governor of west java. Beautiful sculpted

gardens embrace the architectural

monument, and on weekend many

visitors tour the ground. From its

entrance one can gaze upon a busy city

with the iconic Tangkuban volcano in the

background.

The Istana Palace of Bogor

Built in the early 19th century, the

palace, or Istana of Bogor is still used

by the president of Indonesia for

international conferences and events.

Hot Spring of Garut

Cipanas hot spring is one of the oldest

natural spas in west java. Recently out fitted

with a water boom and giant splash fall,

there are hotels, villas and private spas

available for over knighting.
