“Celebrating God’s Faithfulness” Stewardship 2012

Faithfulness, an attribute of God, is more than an aspi-ration of our faith. It is both an expectation and a result.

From the beginning, God’s faithfulness has been con-

tinuously apparent and experienced. Co-existing alongside His faithfulness has been hope that mankind would respond in kind with faithfulness to God. But also from the beginning, in the very midst of God’s abundant grace, arose doubt that, when believed, became self-fulfilling prophecy, leading mankind away from the Provider.

Yet, even in the midst of mankind’s faithlessness, our

God, who cannot change, remains faithful to the world that He loves. Gifting us with Himself through the sacrifice of His Son, God’s very Presence is our continual Provision, providing us with lifetimes of second chances.

Moment by moment of every day then, we who have

chosen to trust God for eternal salvation, also have continuing opportunity to choose to trust Him for today’s salvation. In choosing to trust God, giving fully of ourselves to Him, we be-come His provision to the world that He loves.

By giving our God-given provision back to God, we gift

ourselves with the faithfulness that we need.

In Christ, Cathy Scott
