WHAT IS “PATHFINDER”?A SHORT INTRODUCTION
The word lead originates from the Anglo-Saxon word “laed” which means “to show the way”.
The original intent of leadership therefore means to be a pathfinder – a person who shows the way to others.
It also means to step away from current thinking of leadership as “influence” towards a more bold stance of positive impact.
Grace Hopper was one of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark computer in 1944 and invented the first compiler for computer programming language. She was one of those who popularized the idea of machine independent languages which led to the development of Cobol.

The impact of change is seen at every level of the environment, society and organizations. This new world requires new ethics, mindsets and tools. We also need to make new choices – as existing systems become obsolete even the experts do not have all the answers.

Lady Mary Wortley Montagu was an English aristocrat, letter writer and poet. Aside from her writing, Lady Mary is also known for introducing and advocating for smallpox inoculation to Britain after her return from Turkey. Émilie Du Châtelet was Frenchwoman of the early 18th Century whose insights into light and energy played a major role in Einstein’s work. Principia Mathemetica is still a standard translation in French. This was achieved at a time when women were not able to study mathematics.
