INT. LIVING ROOM. EVENING

ANNOUNCER

Marcos County Department Of Wild

Life has issued a curfew of 9pm

tonight, one month after the

vicious attack in Keen Square Park.

One of the mainy in a chain of over

the-

B looks at the shirt, torn up, muddy, it looks like

something burst out of it, there’s blood in it.

As B looks back at A, her stare is hallowed out, her eyes

are blank, but still she looks betrayed, horrified, eyes are

red with tears.

B

It...

She breaths, trying to process it all.

B

That was your shirt... The girl in

the park?

A’s eyecontact falters, he looks off into the middle

distance, not acknowledging

B

You killed them...

A just looks away, disconnected, ashamed. B just looks at

the man she loves, the man who was every bit apart of her,

as she was of him, the man she knew for the last 3 years.

She’s in tears. He too is losing his composure.

B

What are you?

He’s starting to tremble, he can’t take it.

A

I just... I wake up, and then

they’re-

He can’t find a way to explain it, and soon enough he’s

stopped looking for one.

B

Every month.

Noticing the window behind her, he see’s the dusk has just

started.

A

You have to leave...

As she looks back, she too notices the dusk, and realizes

the situation.

He turns and goes to his room.

She’s right behind him.

B

What are you doing?

A

Leave B

B

A what are you doing?

INT. A’S BEDROOM - EVENING

As he runs in, slamming and locking the door he begins to

search for something, in a lockbox, opening the combination,

he reveals an old pistol.

B begins to slam on the door

B

A? A? Open it! A!

As he looks out his bedroom window at the sun, it’s about to

fall.

He takes the magazine, only one round in it, it’s different

than the others resting in his drawer. Shiny, chrome-like...

INT. HALLWAY - EVENING

He runs past her, she see’s the gun, her demeanor changes,

worried...

B

A? What’s that?

As he rushs down the stairs and out the front door, she

follows close behind.

A

Just go B.

He’s trying to hold back his emotions, he’s determined as he

puts on his boots

B

A just wait. Please! Just wait!

He’s up and he’s heading out the door

B

Please!

She’s worried now, putting on her boots and running back.

B

A Just listen, okay? We can help

you.

EXT. HOUSE FRONT - NIGHT

He walks off into the woods

B

Please! A please don’t! Don’t!

He disappears, as she stands in the doorway to get her shoes

on, she heads to the phone, and begins to dial 911...

But only begins 9-1 and pauses for a moment, thinking before

hanging up the phone before finishing.

She runs back

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT

As he runs alone, through the blue dusk, leaves crunching,

the nightlife approaching, he looks up to the skies and

breaths in some air.

He continues to walk some more, he looks at his watch, and

looks back to make sure B isn’t following.

A continues on into the woods

Elsewhere some meters behind B is looking frantically.

As She calls out

B

Please A, you’re not bad, you’re

not a bad person, please. You’re

not. Please we can get help, just

come back...

Running a few meters more she see’s him, he’s waiting for

her, looking back, he’s got a torn look at her, he stands at

the edge of the dark forest.

B

Please... A don’t do this. It’s

okay... Please A. I don’t care I

just want you.

A looks at her empty.

B

I don’t care. I don’t care just

don’t. Don’t... Don’t...

His eyes are wet, his face is trying to hide his trembling

as he looks at her, he wants to be with her so bad.

A

I can’t... I’ll always be this way.

If I could be something else,

something like us, I would...

B pleads

B

We can. We can. Please, don’t...

A

You know what I am.

A is turning his back...

B

I don’t care.

A is facing away...

A

I felt normal. At times, you made

me forget that... This is what I

was... I never met anyone like you.

B

Please.... A....

A

This is what I am... I’m sorry...

Looking back at her, he gives her a look of regret...

A

I love you.

A disappears into the darkness.

B

A!!!

A scream filled with sorrow, she is after him

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT

He stops, huffing and puffing, sweating, he looks up to the

sky, he’s cutting it short.

Looking around for B he’s sure the coast is clear, he takes

out the pistol, and racks the slide, we can see the silver

bullet as it loads.

He slows down with the cold gun in his hands.

Breathing heavily, he closes his eyes, and he places the

pistol under his chin.

He’s got the gun cocked, and...

And...

And....

He’s frozen...

He’s still, his finger is on the trigger but he’s not

squeezing.

Suddenly he starts gagging, like he’s about to cough,

dropping the pistol.

Fetal position, the gagging and his convulsing as the

nightsky overhead has taken stage, in a sliver of tree’s, he

see’s the full moon.

Throwing up some fluid, he starts to scream in agony,

horrific pain as the crunching of bones, and ligament begin.

He starts to tear off his cloths, his desperation and new

found strength makes it easy.

As he turns over, he begins to tear at his skull, blood

drippling as he tries to claw off his hair.

But over there

About 30 meters away.

It’s B, she closes in with caution, hearing A’s agonized

screams, she runs forward, worried for him...

Then she see’s it, him shaking on the ground, a scream so

horrifically uncanny, not a man, not an animal, something

between, it’s starting to turn more and more animalistic.

B

Oh god...

As he feels his bones crunch, he rips out clumps of his hair

and scalp out, his nails are longer, sharper, bleeding from

where it’s burst out of the human.

B

A...

He tries to calm himself down, as he looks at the floor.

A

B... Go... Please... Please...

His voice is inhuman, his screams are now that of a beast

A

B GO, JUST GO, PLEASE RUN, PLEASE!

A’s crunching is getting more intense...

A

THE GUN!

He’s fighting through the pain now, but he’s failing.

She notices the pistol, picking it up, he looks at her.

She looks at him...

A

I DON’T WANT TO HURT-

He screams some more

B

I can’t...

A

I DON’T WANT TO BE LIKE THIS... I

DON’T WANT TO KILL ANYONE...

B is crying, dropping to her knees, A is trying to talk

calmly, but it’s very stressed

B

I can’t...

A

B, there’s nothing else

B

Please...

A

They can’t- help me...

B

No, A please, we can fix this...

A

No B, we can’t.

His shaky hand grabs the barrel gently, and points it to his

forehead, he’s trying to be still, but the sweat and

convulsions are ringing underneath as he tries to hold back

his transformation.

A

I can’t- please, I don’t want to

be-

B starts to cry even more, holding the gun, he looks back at

her, and his eyes begin to cry...

A

I don’t want to be this anymore.

Eyes filled with tears, in these dark woods.

These two lovers share a gaze...

A wet-eyed

Regretful

good-bye....

A

I love you B

B trembles as she looks at A and holds the gun firmly, she

lets out a sob and holds his head against hers, the

moonlight hanging over them.

B

I love you A

She pulls back, gun pointed.

And as we stare into the darkened forest.

It’s quiet..

Crickets...

Nightlife...

And a single gunshot...

She embraces his body, his nails normal, his odd features

all defaulted to normal.

Weeping, the gun nearby, she holds the lifeless A.

The End...
