Global Data Observatory – Ex. country report

Extended country reports are available for all EU Countries. These contain data on obesity related statistics, drivers, impact and action being taken to prevent and reduce obesity. These reports are generally 35-45 pages long. Key inequality related graphics are provided both in English and the countries official language(s) .

These revised country reports will be available online 20.12.18

Translated Country Report Cards – Cards will be available for all EU countries for both adults and children.

The cards highlight either a visual on obesity health system or ‘in country’ visual relating progress in terms of obesity policy and intervention.

All cards display obesity statistical data on general prevalence and inequality data.

New Platform Launch

World Obesity will launch a brand new platform for SCOPE E-Learning at the end of 2018.

The new platform will have:

• Translated modules (Portuguese, Spanish and French)

• Advanced reporting capabilities

• A more intuitive, user-friendly interface

• Full compatibility with all mobile devices

• An offline player to allow learners to take modules on the go

• A modern and attractive appearance

Recruitment

World Obesity has partnered with a marketing agency to increase uptake of SCOPE E-Learning and SCOPE Schools.

Recruitment figures for SCOPE E-Learning in 2018 are as follows:

University Partnerships

SCOPE recently partnered with the Iberoamericana University in Mexico.

Their postgraduate course Speciality in Obesity and Comorbidities becamethe world’s first SCOPE Accredited university course.

Discussions are ongoing with universities in India and Ireland who are interested in pursuing similar partnerships.

Plans for 2019 and beyond

Launch of a new CLP dedicated to Childhood Obesity

The new CLP will include (among others) modules on:

• Double burden of malnutrition

• Early risk factors- interpretation of growth charts

• Psychological assessment

Expand university partnerships

Enhance hands-on experience of outstanding SCOPE users
