Summary of changes

27-Dec-2013 1.0 Approval date Purpose The purpose of this document is to give a brief summary on the WN7.0 2.3 Ontop2 SW update Delivery content.

1. WN7.0 2.3 ONTOP2 CORRECTION

1.1 CN-id: WN701182: HSUPA throughput is greater than license capacity allows.

NA05467671 - VF_UPE1/RLKO01/TT-000010865220/3G | UPE | HSUPA throughput is greater than license capacity NA05483915 - Max HSUPA throughput (HSUPA MAXIMUM MAC-E THROUGHPUT) for Node B is reporting values greater than licensed throughput after Node B software upgrade from "WN7.0 2.1" to "WN7.0_1207_753.34"

Description of the Fault:

M5008C2 is BTS level counter. During the soft hand over, multiple radio links could be added per user. So while computing the counter (M5008C2), the traffic value for all radio links is added incorrectly when it should to be added only once per user.

Description of the Correction: Implementation of counter during the soft hand over scenario corrected. In case of multiple radio links, the traffic value is added only once to counter (M5008C2).

WCDMA BTS WN7.0 2.3 Ontop2 SW Release Copyright © 2013 Nokia Solutions and Networks. All rights reserved. CONFIDENTIAL APPROVED 1.0 Page 3

1.2 CN-id: WN701183: High RTT in 1400byte ping in HSPA.

NA05476495 - High RTT in 1400byte ping in HSPA 103514ESPE01 - [RU50]RTT ping 1400bytes with HSPA 2ms more than target value(40ms)due to HSUPA L2 limited

Description of the Fault:

RTT was high due to ping packet was taking long time to be sent completely in UL. This was because of HSUPA L2 Scheduler was giving service grant to UE to send only 672 bits (2 MACd PDUs) in UL. Since there was more cell load available, HSUPA L2 Scheduler should have been invoked the upgrade algorithm to give more service grant but this was not happened because the condition to call this algorithm was incorrect.

Description of the Correction: When UE is configured with MAC-e, there are possibilities where the UE is using lower E-TFCI. Since the next higher E-TFCIs is possible with the current serving grant, it does not allow any additional MAC-d PDU with the Reference selected E-TFCI. This should be treated as UE fully using the given serving grant. Criteria for checking whether the UE is currently using the allocated grant, is modified to accommodate this.

1.3 CN-id: WN701184: HSUPA throughput in BTS level counters (M5008C2 & M5008C2) are wrong calculated.

101162ESPE01 - HSUPA throughput in BTS level counters (M5008C2 & M5008C2) are wrong calculated

Description of the Fault:

Wrong information of BTS UL throughput information is not correct. TCOM is reporting in 0.0001 precision.

Description of the Correction: Multiplier is adjusted to be more accurate to indicate correct throughput.

1.4 CN-id: WN701185: Inconsistent baseband consumption for PIC Pool.

NA05453448 - Inconsistent Baseband consumption for PIC Pool Description of the Fault:

TCOM's internal messaging drops few DSP Capacity messages for specific DSP Sub units if there is one present for the whole SM. GRM was not able to adjust to this change, and the HW Resources database was not updated properly “DspCapacityDeltaInd” is sent used to inform BTS CP component (GRM) that PIC exists and includes it for calculation in the PM Counters. The BTS CP component (SctEnv) that forwards messages to other components drops the message whenever “DspCapacityInd” message is available in message queue. This causes the PIC to be not accounted in the counter M5006C0

Description of the Correction:

WCDMA BTS WN7.0 2.3 Ontop2 SW Release Copyright © 2013 Nokia Solutions and Networks. All rights reserved. CONFIDENTIAL APPROVED 1.0 Page 4

PIC calculation is added whenever “DspCapacityInd” is received and will check if the PIC has already been added through “DspCapacityDeltaInd” and M5006C0 counter shows correct value.

1.5 CN-id: WN701186: RRC access connection fails due to UU Counter (M1001C10).

NA05481204 - RRC access Connection fails due to UU Counter (M1001C10) observed on some sites

Description of the Fault:

When decoder receives the packet from RAKE, decoder will allocate memory by using the Maximum Length for packet causing memory too big allocation for nothing. If too big memory is allocated, it will cause the memory allocation failing and then RRC access connection fails.

Description of the Correction: Decoder is allocates memory sufficiency and needed proper size and no extra memory allocation is not done.

1.6 CN-id: WN701190: Incorrect Application management plane configured in the Flexi WCDMA BTS.

NA05518611 - Doubts application management plane configured in the FlexiWCDMA bts

Description of the Fault:

O&M link can't recover after resetting when ARP restriction feature is activated in edge router. In FTM, “arp_announce” is set to “0” causing ARP request to be sent without any IP address configured to every interfaces. Since the ARP was not resolved in the setup, and FTM was receiving packets destined to eth0:1 interface, and the “arp request” was sent out with source IP address configured on the eth0:1 interface instead of eth1 interface.

Description of the Correction: Set “arp_announce” to 2 so that it always uses the best local address. With this change the arp request will be sent out with source IP address of eth1 interface.

1.7 CN-id: WN701191: BTSs with no HSDPA and alarm 7772 “HSDPA configuration failed” and HS state is not defined.

NA05488757 - Several sites with no HSDPA. 7772 HSDPA configuration failed alarm and HS state not defined. NA05492196 - Zero HSxPA traffice due to HSxPA configuration Failed alarm & HS-DSCH operation state disable by the system 43032ESPE06 - WN8.0_1301_842_09: CTRL_CCHH_PhysShChReconfFail with cause Misc 3 NA05517778 - Alarm 7772-HSDPA Configuration Failed - WN7.0 CD2.2.2

Description of the Fault:

WCDMA BTS WN7.0 2.3 Ontop2 SW Release Copyright © 2013 Nokia Solutions and Networks. All rights reserved. CONFIDENTIAL APPROVED 1.0 Page 5

GRM merely disables HSPA cells from its database during CNBAP link break and which leads to the T-cell group of the LCG scheduler to be full. RLH is not immediately proceeding with recovery procedure for Cell Deletion.

Description of the Correction: GRM now will delete HSPA cells, instead of disabling them. RLH proceeds with RL reconfiguration cancel and then start internal cell deletion.

1.8 CN-id: WN701201: HSUPA throughput in BTS level counters (M5008C2 & M5008C2) are wrong calculated.

101162ESPE01 - HSUPA throughput in BTS level counters (M5008C2 & M5008C2) are wrong calculated.

Description of the Fault:

TCOM is reporting 10 times (0.0001 precision) more throughput than expected. Wrong information about BTS UL t-put.

Description of the Correction: The multiplier for the precision adjusted.

Title: HSUPA throughput is greater than license capacity allows Version of the SW-build: WN7.0_1207_1056_06 Valid for Product(s): Flexi WCDMA Base Station References: Reason for the Change Note: Summary of the original problem: BTS’s counter M5008C2 (HSUPA_MAX_MACE_THR) is higher than M5008C30 (LIC_HSUPA_THR). When Max 16 HSUPA users and max HSUPA throughput is 115 Mbps which means each users were uploading ~ 7.2 Mbps which should not be possible. Max HSUPA throughput can be only 5.8 Mbps per users with 2SF2+2SF4 and 16 QAM not implemented How end user/operator could detect the problem: The counter M5008C2 is not reporting correct values as overall HSUPA throughput of Node B cannot go above licensed throughput Description of the fault: M5008C2 is BTS level counter. Title: Inconsistent baseband consumption for PIC Pool Version of the SW-build: WN7.0_1207_1056_04 Valid for Product(s): Flexi WCDMA Base Station References: Reason for the Change Note: Summary of the original problem: M5006C0 counter shows wrong value when there is PIC setup on BTS. When PIC is commissioned for an LCG in BTS, PIC DSP Sub units was not factored in the calculation of M5006C0, meaning it has a wrong value than expected from the counter's formula Description of the fault: TCOM's internal messaging drops few DSP Capacity messages for specific DSP Sub units if there is one present for the whole SM.
