    January 2014

    South WesternSchool District

Dear West Manheim Parents/Guardians,Happy New Year! I hope your holiday vacation was a relaxing time spent

with family and friends. I always look at the New Year as a new begin-

ning to create my yearly goals. Everyone knows that it is difficult to

make drastic changes in your life, so try and make attainable goals for

yourself that you can reach throughout the year. Some goals should be

met early in the year to show success. Others might take more of the

year to meet. I would encourage you to do this with your child also.

First, review both celebrations and struggles your child may have ex-

    perienced in 2013.

Second, try and develop realistic goals to repeat celebrations and allevi-

ate the struggles they may have experienced.

Third, develop a timeline or game plan toward attaining the goal.

Following this simple plan will hopefully bring much delight to your

    child's educational experience.

I would like to extend a big THANK YOU for your contributions to theFeed-A-Friend Marathon. The students collected non-perishable items

for distribution by the New Hope Ministries to local families. Also a spe-

cial THANK YOU goes out to everyone involved in the PTA Shopper's

Room. Many hours were devoted to making the event a rewarding expe-

    rience for the children.

On January 20th, there will be no school for the students due to a teach-

    er in-service day.

Best wishes for a successful, healthy new year to all of our students hereat West Manheim and their families!

    Sincerely,

    Brian M. Cromer
