The WISHES Youth Enrichmentprogram provides elementary students withfun after school enrichment opportunitiesthat are designed to enhance your child’seducational experience, as well as stimulatenew interests in hobbies and recreationalactivities.

Please note the location of each class.WISHES classes will meet at multiplelocations. Students may attend classes inany building. Transportation is NOTprovided. Super Hero Film SchoolGrades 1-5BATMAN, SUPERMAN, SPIDERMAN or WONDER WOMAN! Pick your characters tostar in your own mini-movie... the possibilities are endless. Action figures, Legos, back-drops and props will be available for filming in class. Handle all of the technical detailsincluding using a digital movie camera, filming scenes, stop-motion animation, download-ing footage to the computer, digital editing and adding finishing special effects andtransitions to the movie. BabysitterTraining Course -Red Cross CertifiedAGES 11+This course is essential for anyyoung person interested inbabysitting! Students will learn aboutchild development and handlingemergencies, including rescuebreathing, first aid, preventingaccidents, safety, feeding, diaperingand more. Organizing Your Writing toMake it Stand Out (Email Tutoring)Grades 6-8It starts with a sentence, then a paragraph, and then an essay. With so many rules toremember about how to organize each one, it’s like trying to put together a 10,000 piecepuzzle! If you’ve struggled with organizing an essay before, or just need guidance to makeyour writing stand out, this class is for you! Through regular emails with the instructor, youwill receive specific support with the pieces you need to improve your writing. For thistutoring session, you’ll send two original essays between January 30th and March 27th.Essays can be something you’re working on for a school assignment, works that you planto enter into an essay contest, or focused on a topic of interest to you. For each submittedessay, Mrs. Leddy will give you feedback and ideas via email to strengthen the organiza-tion of your writing. Then, you’ll resubmit your revised essay for final feedback. Skateboard Camps Providedby 3rd Lair SkateparkGrades 1-83rd Lair Skateboard Camps are designed for all ages andabilities. We teach the basics of skateboarding as well ashelp more advanced individuals take their skating to the nextlevel. Our professional instructors share their love of thesport in a fun and supportive environment designed to fosterconfidence and build skills. Skateboard Camps run from9:00am to noon with complimentary open skate after campuntil the park closes - a whole day of fun! Parents shouldplan to stay and supervise students who stay for open skate.We provide any equipment and pads you need free ofcharge. Our camps provide small group instruction based onskill level so everyone feels comfortable, supported andchallenged.
