SettingupyouruserWhenyouhaveloggedinusingthesystemchosenbyyourinstitution(NEMID,WAYF,orWFlogin),youcanedityourprofilesettingsbyclickingyournameinthetoprightcornerandthenEdit profile.

ThisbringsyoutotheProfile Settingspage.Hereyoucan:

1. Editname,phonenumber,andlanguage

2. Editprimaryemailoraddnewsecondaryemails

3. Enable/disableaccesstodemoflows

4. Changepassword(ifyouareloggedinwithWFlogin)

5. ConnectyourWISEflowaccounttoaDropboxaccount

6. Checkwhethersystemrequirementsaremetandinstallrequiredsoftware

FlowOverviewWhenyoulogintoWISEflow,youaremetbytheFlowOverview.Thisisalistofalltheactiveexamflowswhereyouareaddedasparticipant.Thisincludesthedemoflow,whichcanbeusedtogetafeelofhowatypicalexamflowisconducted.Youcanalsoaccesstheparticipantarchivetoseepreviousexamflowsthathavebecomeinactive.

FlowtypesFivedifferenttypesofflowsexist.Theflowtypeonaflowdeterminehowtheexamwillbecarriedout.Youcanseetheflowtypeundertheflowtitle.

Thefivetypesare:

1. FLOWassign:UsedforexamswhereparticipantshandinaPDFfile

2. FLOWlock:Usedforon-siteexamswithouttheuseofaids 3. FLOWoral:Usedfororalexams

4. FLOWhandin:Usedforexamswheretheparticipantshandinanyfileformats 5. FLOWmulti:Usedformultiplechoicetestswithorwithouttheuseofaids

FlowstateAflowcanbein4differentstates,whichcanbeseeninthetimelineofeachflow:1.Enrolledonflow

Theflowhasbeenactivatedbythemanagerontheflow,buttheparticipationdatehasnotyetbeenreached.Youcanaccesstheflowtofindinformationaboutthemanagers,assessors,curriculum,assignment,etc.

2.Openforparticipation

Thisisthemostimportantstateforyouasaparticipant.Duringtheperiodofthisstate,youcanuploadandhandinyourassignment.Thisstateisopenaccordingtothestartandenddatesseennexttotheflowicon.

3.Closedforparticipation

Theparticipationperiodhasended,andtheassignmentshandedinarebeingassessed.

4.Theflowhasended

Allassignmentshandedinhavebeenassessed.Youcanaccessthegradeifithasbeenpublishedbythemanagerontheflow.

HowdoIhandinmyexampaper?Youenteraparticularflowbyclickingtheflowtimelineortitle.

Thisbringsyoutotheflowpage,whichchangesdependingonthestatetheflow.Theflowpageshownbelowisanexampleofthestate"Openforparticipation",becausethisisthemostimportantstateforyouasaparticipant.

FLOWassign1.Under“Paper”,youcanuploadyourpaperasaPDFfile(onlyonefileisallowed)anduploadappendixmaterial,whichcanbeanynumberandtypeoffile.Ifpossiblewiththespecificfiletype,youcanpreviewafileafterhavinguploadedit.Youcanalsoeditthetitleordownloadordeletefiles.

2.Thecoversheetisaseparatepieceofpaperthatwillbeinsertedasthefirstpageofyourhand-in.Thecoversheetcontainsinformationthatisusedtomanage,store,andassessyourassignment.Click

3.Noticethe"Canbehandedin"message,whichtellsyouthattheuploadedmaterialmeetsthe

requirementsandcanthusbehandedin.Handinbyclicking .Thisisfollowedbyaconfirmationthatyourpaperhasbeenhandedin.

Itisalsopossibletohandinblankifnofileshavebeenuploaded.

Whenyourpaperhasbeenhandedin,youcanrequestforareceipttobesenttoyouremail.Ifallowedbytheflowmanager,itispossibletowithdrawyourpaperandhandinanewone.

FLOWhandin1.Youuploadyourpaperunder“Paper”.Thepaperyouhandincanbeofanytypeandanynumberoffiles.TheexceptiontothisarecaseswherethemanagerhassetuptheflowtoallowonlyalimitednumberoffilesorrestrictedthepermittedfiletypestoPDFonly.Ifthereareanyrestrictions,thesewillbeshownabovetheuploadbutton.Ifyouuploadmorethantheallowednumberoffiles,apop-upwindowwillinformyouaboutthis.

YoumaystarttheFLOWlockbrowserbyclicking under“Paper”.

ThiswillallowyoutowriteandhandinyourpaperfromtheFLOWlockbrowser.Whenthepaperishandedin,youwill1)getconfirmationfromtheflowfrontpageandcan2)previewthepaperhandedin

byclicking .

FLOWmultiAFLOWmulticanbecarriedoutusingtheFLOWlockbrowsersimilartoaFLOWlockfloworwithoutthebrowserdependingonhowtheflowissetupbytheadministrator.ThismeansthatyouneedtohavetheFLOWlockbrowserinstalledonyourcomputerasdescribedintheFLOWlocksection.TheexamplebelowisaflowconductedwithouttheFLOWlockbrowser,butaflowconductedwiththeFLOWlock

browserwouldlookalmostthesameexceptfromthefactthattheassignmentwillbeansweredintheFLOWlockbrowserinsteadofthenormalbrowser.

Whentheassessmentperiodhasended,andtheflowadministratorhasmadetheassessmentvisibletoparticipants,theassessmentmadebytheassessorcanbeseennexttotheassignment.Youcanalso

previewcommentsandannotationssharedwithyoubytheassessorbyclicking .
