Principal’s Message It is hard to believe the school year is almost over! Thank you to all in our community for your support, enthusiasm and assistance this year. Your support is essential in our continuing efforts to provide a quality education in a safe and happy environment.

My thanks also to the members of the school staff, both teaching and non-teaching, for their professionalism and commitment.

We farewell some staff at the end of this year:

• Mrs Squire will move to Sydney.• Mrs Stone starts life as a podiatrist.• Mrs Carey starts as the principal at Dudley

PS.• Mr Glapa will spend a year in Canada.

We wish each of them well in the future.

Congratulations to our graduating Year 6 students. On behalf of our whole school community we wish you well in high school and your future years. On Monday night the Year 6 students celebrated at their farewell function. It was a great night. Thank you to Mrs Murray, Mrs Leleu and Mr Glapa for coordinating the evening.

On Friday there will be a clap out for Year 6 and our departing teachers. It will start at approximately 3:10pm with students finishing the clap out in the NOLA, not the COLA as has been previously done.

I have included our Term 1 Calendar to assist parents who need to apply for time off work or plan events around school events.

In 2018 our K-2 and 3-6 assemblies remain in the current format, however will move back to a Friday afternoon.

I trust everyone has a safe and happy Christmas and a relaxing holiday.

Tuesday 30th January – Years 1-6 Monday 5th February - KindergartenStudents will return to their 2017 class in 2018 until enrolment numbers are verified. These are called holding classes. The time in holding classes depends upon how quickly our student enrolments become stable. Student enrolment numbers determine class organisation, staffing allocations, room allocations and class size.

Deputy Principal’s Message Cup of the Week Congratulations 5H! You were the last class of the year to hold the coveted Cup of the Week. 5H were awarded the Cup for their ability to use their getting along skills when problems arose. The Cup is going to have a facelift over the holidays and will return in 2018 in time for our 4th assembly.

Bicycle Safety Parents and Caregivers, as the holidays are only days away it is a great time to remind your children about road safety. Once again I have taken phone calls from concerned adults who have had near misses with children riding their bikes. Please take the time to speak to your child/children about being safe on the roads, whether walking or riding.
