Holding Tank PumpoutsHelp us keep our marine waters clean

by using the free holding tank pump-outs located around the harbor. Properly disposing of your boat sewage prevents disease-carrying bacteria from entering the water. Boat sewage can not only spread disease, it can also contaminate shellfish beds and lower oxygen levels in the water. It’s our duty as stewards of the environment to mitigate potential intrusion of waste into our waterways. Please contact the office if you need help locating a pump-out near your boat.

Pets at the HarborsPlease keep your pet welcome:

• Keep your pet on a leash at all times. Do not let your dog run loose on the dock.

• Help us preserve water quality and respect shared dock spaces by taking your pet to the appropriate upland area for potty breaks.

• Clean-up after your pet’s mess. If accident’s happen on the docks, pet waste bags are located throughout the marina.

Whatcom County is homeport to a diverse year-round commercial fishing fleet. In 2014 the Port of Bellingham sponsored a economic impact study which concluded the local fishing industry contributes $320 million in revenue from purchases by the fishing fleet at the Port’s marinas (not including the landed value of the fish catch) and generates 1,784 direct jobs with

the job holders earning $94.5 million in wages and salaries. Supporting our local fishing fleet with competitive moorage rates, first rate loading piers and webhouses ensures Whatcom County will continue to be an attractive homeport to commercial fishing operators. A copy of the economic study is available on the Port’s website.
