Wipro’s IT business offers end-to-end IT solutions (IT, BPO, R&D Services, Consulting Services ) to its customers. WT caters to the geographies of US, Europe & Japan, while WI caters to the geographies of India, ME, Australia & South-East Asia. The IT business contributes – approx. 89% of the revenues. Wipro’s other businesses - Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting and Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, contributes approx. 11% of the revenues. Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting - is amongst the fastest growing FMCG companies in India. It is amongst the top 10 FMCG companies in India, post the acquisition of Unza Holdings (July 2007). It has a presence in segments such as – personal care, baby care, wellness products, domestic & institutional lighting, office furniture and switches. Other Initiatives • Use of Water efficient bathroom fixtures such as push taps and motion sensors • Evaluating the use of recycled water, upon further treatment for cooling towers and for cleaning purposes • We are starting an important research study on ‘Responsible Water’ – the study will assess social and environmental impact of our water usage in Chennai and SJP

• The rain water harvesting project has been taken up as an initiative to re-use rain water and for ground water recharge. • The harvested rain water is used for Cooling Towers, washing of utensils and hands in cafeteria and for landscaping.

We recycled 35% of water in all of our major locations, through state of the art Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). The recycled water is re-used for Landscaping and Sanitation Purposes


Waste Initiatives Installation of Biogas plants at 3 of our Locations - The plant yields 160 -180 cubic meters / day (at full load) of biogas i.e. equivalent to 4-6 commercial LPG which is directly proportional to solid waste loaded.

The Vermi-Composting Plant at 2 of our locations caters to the large quantities of solid biodegradable waste. This process produces 300 -350 kg/ month of manure through the biological decomposition process. This organic manure is odourless and of high quality and is used for landscaping

The Organic Waste Converter (OWC) Plant at 4 of our locations works on the principle of Aerobic Microbial Decomposition of solid waste into Compost. This is a Bio Mechanical Process which produces a homogeneous odour free output in 15 minutes.

Paper Recycling plant at EC works on the principle conversion of paper to pulp – in-turn providing us with notepads. This process saves approximately 67.2 tons of timber and approximately 5.14 lac gallons of water

On ground segregation of Wet and Dry waste by means of colour coded dustbins

• Participation in E-waste awareness Campaigns by Nokia. • Facilitating safe disposal of employee owned e-waste through NGO’s such as SAAHAS
