PARENTS, WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!

Dear One2Nine Parents, Each year One2Nine Youth Ministry takes a road trip to Knoxville, TN to attend Winterfest, an awesome youth conference that transforms lives. It’s that time again to start praying and anticipating a great move of God in the lives of the teens and young adults who attend! This information pack is designed to answer any questions that you might have about this trip, which is held March 11-13, 2016. We are planning early to give you enough time to plan financially so that your child can attend this amazing youth conference. Sign-ups for Winterfest 2016 is going on now! The total cost of the trip is $240. This includes the hotel stay, transportation and the youth conference registration fee. Food is not included and you should plan for 5 meals and money for go-carting and ice-skating in Gatlinburg. Breakfast is included with the hotel stay. We have a payment schedule that makes it easy to pay for the trip. There is a $40 deposit that you can submit by August 23rd. After that you will need to pay $40 each month through the month of January. Please be sure to submit the deposit along with your child’s application found in this information packet. You will also find some upcoming IPCOG events! For those who have never been to Winterfest, we will be going up to Knoxville, TN, a little over four hours away. Friday is a school day and we will provide an excuse for your child due to a church function. Your child is responsible for any tests or make-up work that will be missed.

Every student is required to fill out and return the permission form along with his/her deposit. We don’t expect to have any problems, but if we do, these forms are necessary to be able to turn to. Students who cannot agree to these expectations and return their completed forms will be unable to go. Please make sure your student is aware of all expectations in this packet. We want them to be aware of the policies and procedures.

WHAT NOT TO BRING.. -Clothing that is not dress code appropriate -guns -any kind of tobacco products -drugs -fireworks -knives (really any weapon of any kind, except your Bible) -alcohol -grenades -you get the point... If you have anything that is questionable about bringing, the best choice is DON’T BRING IT!

WHAT TO BRING... Don’t wait until the night before to get everything together for your student! -YOUR BIBLE!!! -Notepad and pen -Money for 5 meals, souvenirs, and money for go-carting and ice-skating in Gatlinburg -Comfortable and dress code appropriate clothing -toiletries, a towel, shampoo, soap, etc. -Nonperishable food items for the road -a good, encouraging attitude

DRESS CODE For Winterfest we want students to focus on Jesus, so we ask that everyone dress appropriately and not in a way that distracts. *If you feel like something is questionable, leave it at home. Specifics for ladies : -Tank tops with straps less than two fingers wide should not be worn. -When you put your hands to your side, your shorts and dresses should reach your fingertips. -Shirts that show your stomach should not be worn. Specifics for guys: -No shirt should have any inappropriate language or illegal substances on it. -Your boxers should not be showing at any time -Make sure that your pants are secure around your waist LEADER SUPERVISION Your student will be assigned a background-checked leader for the trip who will supervise your child. These leaders go through a training process to ensure they are prepared to be a Winterfest chaperone. COMMUNICATION All parents of students attending Winterfest are required to join our text blast by texting @wf2016 to 81010. We will be sending out group texts with payment reminders, updates and event happenings. Be sure to stay connected!

GROUP REFLECTION TIME Group reflection time happens throughout the trip, so that students have an opportunity to share, with their leader and other students in the room, what they are learning or what they are struggling with. These conversations are truly important because students get to discuss how what they hear from the stage applies in their own life. We want this to be a safe environment for students to feel like they can be authentic, so this time is led by the leader they’re with throughout the week. TAKE HEART Your student will be surrounded by a community of people who care about them, and they will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus on a daily basis. They will be in an environment where life change can take place. Winterfest 2016 - Knoxville, TN - Date of trip: March 11-13, 2016 I, _________________________________________________________________ give my child, _________________________________________________________, permission to participate in Winterfest 2016 held in Knoxville, TN and warrant that my child is in good health. I fully understand that my child is to abide by all rules and regulations of One2Nine at all times during this trip. I agree to indemnify International Praise, One2Nine and the staff from any claims or lawsuits brought against International Praise, One2nine or staff by myself, my child or others, which arises out of any behavior by my child at the event/activity described above. I also agree to pay reasonable attorney’s fees or expenses incurred by International Praise, One2Nine, and the staff in defense of such a claim/lawsuit. In the event of any illness or injury, I hereby consent to whatever x-ray examination, anesthetic, medical, dental or surgical diagnosis or treatment and hospital care from a licensed physician and/or surgeon as deemed necessary for the safety and welfare of my child. It is understood that the resulting expenses will be the responsibility of the parent(s), guardian(s), or participant. Whenever possible, attempts will be made to contact the parent/guardian prior to taking any medical action. As a Parent or Guardian, I agree to all of the above stated consideration and conditions. I also agree to allow any pictures or videos taken during this retreat to be used as promotional material for Winterfest or One2Nine Youth Ministry.
