Residents and businesses located along Intracostal Waterways and the New River can be apart of the Boat Parade by decorating their property or dock during the Shoreline Decorating Extravaganza presented by Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company.

On December 10, the shores will light up the sky as the official backdrop for the award-winning parade. Participants are encouraged to embrace the “Passport to Paradise” theme – the sky is the limit.

WSVN Channel 7 will feature the best of the best when it comes to decorated homes and businesses along the parade route. Be sure to give your best queen wave to photographers, film crew and judges aboard the Floridian Princess before the parade.

To take a special ride along the parade route and experience the fabulous decorations, Water Taxi is offering several opportunities to see the displays during the month of December. The Riverwalk and downtown are also great places to get in the holiday spirit with lights and the parade’s staging area.

There will be several camera crews on hand for the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade December 14, 2013. WSVN will film at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Boulevard and Stranahan House, while Comcast Communications will provide the connection to the City of Fort Lauderdale’s channel 78 and EyeOnSouthFlorida will provide a live webcam.

The best places to view the full parade procession along the New River are at the Riverside Hotel, areas near the Stranahan House and east from the Downtowner Saloon.

Riverside Hotel is offering special weekend packages to allow people to get a unique view of the parade. For more information or reservations, call Denease at 954-377-0969.

Get your “Passport to Paradise” by entering your boat into the 42nd year of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade. For just $35, patrons with boats, kayaks, yachts and other vessels can enter the parade and decorate their entry to have an opportunity to be seen on television and compete for best-of-the-best awards. We would love the support of the boating community through participation to continue to make this the most watched boat parade in the world.

The way you choose to decorate your boat is up to you! The theme is “Passport to Paradise,” so you are encouraged to go global – turn your tuna tower into the Eiffel Tower or take your boat South of the border with a mariachi band on board. Use lights, music and costumes to take your vessel to another level and impress the more than a million viewers. If you should choose, Winterfest encourages that you add a sign on your boat for a charity you support.
