The Training of Secret

Service Agents” 2:00 p.m. LLI Information Session: “How to Audit Classes at NSU” 2:30 p.m. NSU Campus Bus Tour (approximately 90 minutes)

Coffee and tea will be provided.12:30 p.m. Afternoon Class: Vincent Toscano, Ph.D. —“Hollywood Presents History: Movies About Events

That Really Happened—Taking on the Establishment—Concussion (2015).” Toscano will give an introductory lecture on the historic importance of the movie, which will then be screened on Thursday (1/12/17).

Coffee and tea will be provided.12:30 p.m. Afternoon Class: Armando Droulers—“Modern Master Gustav Klimt: From Tradition to

the Avant-Garde”

Thursday, January 12, 2017 9:45 a.m. Introduction to the LLI: Linda Maurice, M.A., LLI director10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. “Hollywood Presents History – Concussion (2015)” – Vincent Toscano discusses and presents the

movie Concussion (120 min., 2015) about a forensic pathologist who fights the National Football League over brain degeneration suffered by professional football players. A group discussion on the social and historic ramifications of the film will follow lunch and the screening.

11:30 a.m. Break: Bring a bagged lunch to enjoy with LLI members. Coffee and tea will be provided.

The NSU-LLI welcomes Unishred, America’s leader in on-site document destruction. A secure bin will be on-site the whole week for anyone wishing to bring documents for shredding disposal. Please note: Speakers and topics are subject to change due to schedule conflicts or outside commitments of our speakers.
