Question:

What did the cow say to the dairy Farmer

on a cold Sunday morning?

Answer:

Your tour conductor will tell you the an-

swer on the trip, so sign up today and join

us! Last year this tour sold out fast.

A Short Farming Story:

A young boy was walking to school in the

holy land when he saw an old man plant-

ing an olive tree. The boy stopped and

asked the old man why he was planting

an olive tree that would take years to give

fruit when he may not be alive at that time

to eat the fruit. The old man smiled and

responded, “Yes, that may be true, but

our grandparents planted so we could eat

and now we plant so our grandchildren

can eat also.” Farmers worldwide are

doing just that, planting so that others can

eat the fruit of their fields.

A one day adventure, your tour package

includes:

Round trip transportation by first class

A/C motor coach with a clean restroom

and clean windows for a great view

Professional tour conductor

≤ Free ice cold soft drinks on boardyour motor coach

nearby trailer park that we will assign to

Farms, farmers, the farming industry, fun

and an educational adventure; you will

see and experience all of these things on

this tour.

This trip will introduce you to farms, farm-

ers and the farming industry in our great

Valley. It will be fun and educational, with

lots of fresh air. Sign up as early as pos-

sible as last year’s tours all sold out fast.

You will discover many hidden places in-

cluding water pumping plants and differ-

ent ranches and fields on US side of the

river. You will see and meet farmers who

will take their time to explain to you about

their farming methods and to answer any

questions you may have about the farm-

ing industry.

During the tour, you will enjoy a great

lunch with superb service at a nice

restaurant. You will love this lunch (In-

cluded).

Kind Ranch was founded in 1853

after Captain Richard King at-

tended the Lone Star Fair in Cor-

pus Christi. At the fair, Captain

Kind and his friend Texas Ranger

Captain Gideon K. Lewis formed a

partnership to establish and oper-

ate a livestock operation with

headquarters at the site of the

Santa Gertrudis Creek.

King Ranch has played important

roles in South Texas history. Dur-

ing the Civil war, the Nueces strip

was the back door of the Confed-

eracy and a way around the union

Blockade of Confederate Port. It is

the birth place of the American

ranching business. At the Civil

war, over 100,000 head of King

Ranch cattle headed up the trail to

feed a beef-hungry nation. King

Ranch sprawls across 825,000

acres of South Texas. Covering

more than 1,300 square miles, it is

larger than the entire state of

Rhode Island, and it is the home

of 60,000 Santa Gertrudis and 300

registered Quarter horses. King

Ranch is also a

mu l t i na t i ona l

a g r i b u s i n e s s

and energy exploration corpora-

tion which produces grain

sorghum, sugar cane, rice, cotton,

turf grass, sweet corn,

and cattle.
