to be picked up. They are located in the front lobby.

Please don’t use any offering envelopes from 2016

as they are numbered, and that number may have

changed from last year. If you have not had enve-

lopes in the past and would like some, let us know on

the communication sheet or give the office a call. If

you have not turned in a commitment card for 2017, it

would be greatly appreciated if you would so we can

plan better in the future.

Inclement Weather Notifications As we move into the winter months, we want to remind every-

one about how you can find out about closures. In case of bad

winter weather, decisions about church services and activities

will be posted on WDBJ-7 and WSLS-10, the church website,

and also to the church Facebook page.

Wednesday Nights at

6:15 PM!

For kids Pre-K—6th grade

The Afterschool program had the best Christmas Break ever! The week

before Christmas we made Christmas ornaments. The children sang

Christmas carols at for the residents at Snyder’s Nursing home. They also

made foam ornaments and cards. During the week before Christmas they

learned about Advent. They learned what each candle in the wreath means

and that Jesus is the whole reason we celebrate Christmas. We finished

out the week with pajamas, cookies, hot cocoa and movie day.

The week after Christmas we went on field trips

to Cici’s pizza for lunch and the Skate Center. We

had an inflatable maze for a day and on Friday we

counted down the new year at noon with a balloon

drop! Coming up on January 28th the Afterschool

and Preschool are teaming up for a Paint Night

fundraiser! Details will be available soon!

Communion

Thanks so much for the prayers and cards during the passing of Doug on

December 1. I appreciate also the visits and phone calls from Pastor Hilton

and Pastor Ivey. We are so fortunate to belong to have such a caring church
