Merry Christmas!
the
ScrogginsFamily Christmas Newsletter
Blessed! There are times when I reflect on my life, and I just cant
believe how blessed we are. I am continually thankful for it.
And Im learning what it means to be made rich in every wayso that we can be generous on every occasion (2 Corinthians
9:11)generous with our time, generous with our home,
generous with our money, generous with our talents. Our
family will undoubtedly continue to grow in understanding
how Jesus intends for this to look.
I also recognize that Gods sovereign hand sometimes brings
blessings but at other times brings trials and difficulties. I pray
to develop the kind of faith that withstands the trials and leads
me humbly to the foot of the cross. ~Rachel

Winter happenings
Our great kids!Maya and Samuel are a delight to us! They
are both very different. Maya LOVES to playwith little kids and is a natural teacher (you
should hear her read stories!). Samuel loves
intellectual activities and reading. We are
trying to help both of them learn that their gifts
and abilities are from the Lord and that He wants
them to learn to use their gifts for His glory. We are
also helping them learn important character traits such
as diligence and perseverance.
Fine Arts CelebrationEach fall, our school has a fine arts celebration
complete with musical performances and an art show.
This year, Samuel submitted some of his photography.
He seems to have an eye for catching interesting things!
Maya and Rachel both submitted drawings. Bob
displayed some of his ceramics.
Thanksgiving visit to foster home Over our Thanksgiving holiday, our family
travelled a couple hours away from Tianjin to a
foster home that helps Chinese orphans with
brittle bones disorder. We helped them rake
leaves, and Bob helped to renovate a house. It
was a blessing for our family to get to serve
together.
Maya turned nine!On November 20, Maya celebrated her 9th birthday. This year, her party had a horse theme. We had horse
activities/games and her cake had a Littlest Pet Shop
horse on it. We talked about how Maya is now way
to being an adultwow!!

THE LOREM IPSUMS WINTER 2016

In April of last year, our school signed a contract with the local education bureau to lease a building
that had been built for a British school but was never finished. In October, the renovations began
on this beautiful new campus. The renovations are set to be completed in January, and our school
(both the current main campus and the Early Childhood Center) will move together to the new
location during January.
The new building is gorgeous and spacious. We are all so excited and
thankful for Gods provision and gift to us.

Snowflakes are beautiful, as you see
They jump and dance in snow so deep
They smile and giggle and fall on your nose
Skipping and hopping on childrens clothes!
