Pink Belts for the Cure!
WINTER 2018
Our club supported the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation last year with a total donation of
$820.00. This year our donation to the Canadian
Cancer Society raised $1000.00. We wear Pink Belts
each October for cancer awareness.
Our Bully Buster Seminar and
BBQ raised $700.

Garrett Mills Scholarship
Instructors & Students at NDSS for EMAC’s Fall Gasshuku.
Special Guest Instructor Hanshi Ken Tallack.
Your fees keep the club alive! Building
maintenance, new wall heaters, repairs,
taxes, insurance, heat, and hydro costs are
all rising! Our last fee increase for our
existing members was 2013. Current
members will have their same fee rate for
2018.
To offset rising costs of heat, hydro,
insurance, and maintenance, new members
will pay a monthly fee of $80 as of
January 1, 2016.

Thank you to our faithful Black Belt Instructors: Ed Gastle, Jim
Gounelas, Mijra Gulley, Barry Gulley, Lance Schonberg, Ryan
Calver, Natalie Patel, Alex Calver, Brian Calver, and Flora
Hutchison. These Instructors know the value of training and growing
in the Martial Arts. We have many other senior students and volunteers
who donate their time and effort so that others may learn. Your help
with our children’s classes keep our club alive!
TOURNAMENTS & SEMINARS
All belts are invited to attend Tournaments & Seminars at any of our
affiliated clubs. Your EMAC membership is included with your
Napanee Karate Club membership, and gives you a wide variety of
training opportunities. Check out EMAC and Napanee Karate Club on
Facebook to keep up with the latest news.
SPRING & FALL GASSHUKU 2017
Sakura Martial Arts (Perth) and the Napanee Karate Club hosted
EMAC National Gradings and Gasshuku. Congratulations to all
participants and volunteers, and to Alex Calver, Brian Calver and
Flora Hutchison who were successfully graded to, Shodan, first
degree Black Belt. Well done!
Help these new people get a good
start to their training by setting the
best possible example:: Lauren,
Pepper, Brodie, Jack, Danielle,
Jackson, Quinn, Liam, Ben,
Wyatt, Sylva, Kev, Zack, Royaa,
Aseel, Mahmoud, Mohammed,

WINTER WEATHER! “We doze, we never close!” If you
are not sure about the weather, stay
home & train harder the next night!
If the weather is uncertain, please
stay at the club with your children,
instead of dropping them off. Your
child’s safety is our # 1 concern.
