As time passes by our houses become full to the roofline with items we may not truly love, use or need. This presentation will give you the ammunition to say, “enough is enough” and stay strong in your dealings with the myriad of items taking residence in your house. There are over 25 tips, tricks and mottos being taught. Join Jean Marie Herron, profes- sional organizer and owner of POSSE Partners, LLC. for this fun and informative night. Life at the Edwardian Manor -- Inspired by Downton Abbey Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 pm The critically acclaimed TV Series, “Downton Abbey,” has renewed popular interest in the Edwardian era, when King Edward VII reigned in the United Kingdom. It was a time of great disparity between the haves and the have- nots. Wealthy aristocrats owned huge manor houses, and reveled in luxury, leisure, and extravagant entertain- ing. The rich expected their every whim to be indulged, and all their daily needs to be fulfilled, by the lower class of domestic servants. This “Golden Age,” which was a reaction to the Victorian era (and actually began in the late 19th cen- tury), perched on a shaky foundation as the winds of change brought a time of greater social mobility within the rigid British class system. Come learn about this fascinating time and the people who lived in it. Though you don't have to be a "Downton Abbey" fan to enjoy this program, devoted fans may take more notice of certain details in the show after attending. The Path Between the Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal Saturday, January 11 at 2:00 pm Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Panama Canal and learn about this amazing feat of human ingenuity. Presented by Glenn LeBouf of Let History Live. Holiday Tree Lighting Sunday, December 8 4:30 pm Join us to kick off the holiday season with the Borough's annual tree lighting! Plus after the concert, we’ll be showing The Ed Sullivan Show featuring The Beatles’ original performance. Refreshments will be served.
