Kimono Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar:

o 4910 Old Country Club Road

o It’s cheap, fast service, and the shrimp sauce is to die for. Favorite dish: Hibachi Chicken

Fourth Street Filling Station o 871 4th Street o American southern food.-The atmosphere is great, especially when it’s

nice outside. Also, half-off wine Wednesdays. They also have a great Sunday brunch.

Village Tavern o 2 locations in Winston but I’d recommend this location for the outdoor

patio: 221 Reynolda Village

o American Food. The crab dip appetizer is delicious. Willow’s Bistro

o 300 S Liberty st ste 125 o American/Southern . It’s located in an old train station, has a great

selection of beer and wine, and outdoor patio. You have to try the fried

green tomato BLT Cloverdale Kitchen

o 300 South Liberty Street Suite 125 o American comfort food, super cheap and still good

Mi Pueblo o 2905 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem or 644 South Stratford Road,

Winston-Salem

o Favorite dish: California Burrito (although I feel compelled as a native Californian to note here that this is not a true “California burrito”,

which usually consists of carne asada and French fries…albeit it’s a delicious burrito!) I have to warn you that not all the dishes here are awesome, especially ones with their odd red sauce.

La Botana o 1547 Hanes Mall Blvd.

o Consistently voted as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Winston-Salem. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday they have great dinner specials.

Sweet Potatoes o 529 North Trade Street

o American/Southern food. It has one of the best brunches in Winston-Salem.

Mellow Mushroom

o 314 West 4th Street o Pizza and Bar. Also serves sandwiches, salads, etc. Some of the best

pizza I’ve ever had. All their specialty pizzas are super unique. My favorite one is the Funky Q. Chicken or Gourmet White pizza

o 723 Trade Street o American breakfast food. It has late hours, breakfast is served all day,

located on Trade Street. My favorite dish is the Apple Butter baby breakfast sandwich

Meridian o 411 South Marshall Street o Mediterranean and local cuisine. Haven’t actually been yet but heard

great things. A little more expensive. Milner’s American Southern

o 630 S. Stratford Rd o The best steak in Winston-Salem...gourmet (expensive) Southern

food...it’s delicious!

6th and Vine o 209 West 6th Street

o American Food, great wine. It has a very nice ambiance and backdoor patio. Also great for going out at night. Also has really good beer specials.

Lighthouse Grill o 905 Burke Street

o American Food. Really cheap for a lot of food. West End Cafe

o 916 West 4th Street o American Food. Great sandwiches and lunch spot, but also open for

dinner.

District Roof Top Bar & Grille o 770 Liberty View Ct (upper Trade street)

o A brand new bar/restaurant in Winston-Salem, awesome for its outdoor patio and view of downtown Winston-Salem

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar

o 1045 Hanes Mall Blvd o Chicken wings galore

More casual restaurants & cafes

Lunch: Dioli’s Italian Market

o 2898 Reynolda Road o Great sandwiches and Italian goodies and close to campus

Carving Board

o 318 South Stratford, Thruway Shopping Center o Delicious salads and sides, good for lunch

Chick-Fil-A o Several locations in Winston-Salem, including one on campus, but my

favorite is 1925 Peace Haven Road

o Fast food but it is delicious! o Favorite dish: Spicy chicken sandwich. (hint: try out all the side

sauces they have, especially the Chick-Fil-A sauce) Thai Sawatdee

o Favorite dish: Chicken Yellow Curry Skippy’s Hot Dogs

o 624 W. 4th Street o A local favorite for a delicious hot dog. The pretzels are made out of

buns!

o Delicious milkshakes! Five Guys

o 3273 Robinhood Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106

o Southerners favorite place for a burger and fries Bob’s Big Gas Subs and Pub

o 901 Reynolda Rd. o Great place for unique sandwiches and they have a bar

Burke Street Pizza o 1140 Burke Street or 3352 Robinhood Rd

o Good, cheap pizza and open late Olive Tree Deli

Waffle House o There are several- click on the link for all the locations o Don’t expect fancy...they have delicious hash browns and chocolate

chip waffles...open 24/7, a late night favorite

o Great coffee and sandwiches. Plus it’s close to campus. Try the grilled cheese!
