Solo Recital Competition Winner
First Prize Lynca Saito
NY, pianoStudent of Mina Kusumoto
Born in 2003 in NYC, Lynca Saito (14) started her piano lessons at age 7 with her current teacher Mina Kusumoto, and now studies with a scholarship at Bloomingdale Music School's Professional Training Program. She also learns from Dr. Nina Lelchuk, a professor at Queens College. Lynca has won numerous awards and competitions as well as performing at renowned concert halls, such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Engelman Recital Hall and Steinway Hall. In 2013 she earned a perfect score of 100/100 at highest level in the NYSSMA piano festival. In 2014 she passed ABRSM Grade 8 (highest level) piano exam with Distinction. She performed her first solo recital at age 10 as the reward for winning First Prize in the Solo Recital Competition. She also received Grand Prix of the Concert Festival International Competition, and Top Medal of AADGT festival. In 2016 she was granted First Prize
of the Rondo Vanguard Competition. Recently, for two years in a row, she has participated in IKIF (International Keyboard Institute and Festival) and received countless number of master classes. Lynca is now a freshman at Stuyvesant High School in NYC. She is a member of the high school concert band as a flutist. She also belongs to Stuyvesant Key Club, Model UN and Piano Club.
