DREAM COME TRUE Name: Harikrishnan Age: 10 yrs School: Rajagiri International

Raju was a boy who lived with his mother in a town in India. His

father worked in Dubai. His father visited him once in a year. Raju felt

unhappy when he sees kids playing with their father or when he sees

children coming for school programmes with their fathers. He missed his

father a lot and wished that he could stay with his father. But Raju didn’t

want to go to Dubai because he thought that Dubai was not green at all.

He also didn’t want to stay away from his home and his grandparents.

One day, Raju got a phone call from his father who said that he had

arranged a visa for Raju and his mother to stay in Dubai. Even though Raju

was delighted, he put forward one condition that he would only stay there

only for a year if he isn’t satisfied.

The next month, Raju and his mother travelled to Dubai. It was his

first journey by air. Raju stared at the gorgeous looking clouds as they

passed by. After a few hours, they arrived at Dubai. He had never seen

such a beautiful place. There were gardens, buildings and malls

everywhere. Everything he thought about the city was wrong. People

from different countries, cultures and religions lived in harmony. They all

called the city home. He made many friends and bought many things he

dreamt of buying. His father took him to a desert where he saw the

beauty of the sand dunes rode on a camel and had a desert safari in a

jeep. It was a very exciting experience for Raju. He enjoyed it a lot. He

liked the city very much because living in Dubai was very comfortable and

safe. He never thought that he was living in a foreign country. It was like a

home away from home. He also got a chance to play and live with his

father. After living in Dubai for 2 months, Raju said to his father “First, I

said that I would live here only for a year. But now, I changed my mind

and I want to live in Dubai forever and I love this country very much. Dad,

could you bring Grandpa and Grandma here too?”
