Rabbi Adam

In a bulletin column I wrote twelve years ago, I shared some information on Judaism’s view of the afterlife which I obtained from Rabbi Joseph Telushkin’s book - Jewish Lit-eracy: The Most Important Things to Know About the Jewish Religion, Its People, and Its History. In recent weeks, I have been teaching a class on this topic and it is apparent that there is great interest in this matter. I want to again share some of Rabbi Telush-kin’s writings on this subject and hope that it will spark your interest enough to come to my next Jewish Literacy class on this theme.

FROM THE RABBI’S STUDY Rabbi Adam Wohlberg

During my years as a rabbi, I have often been asked to explain what we Jews believe happens after we die. More than once, I have fielded questions such as: “Do Jews believe in Hell?” and “Do we believe in resurrec-tion or reincarnation?”

The answers to these questions require more space than a bulletin column allows, but here is part of what Rabbi Telushkin offers in an article on Afterlife (in Hebrew Olam Ha-Ba) which appears in Jewish Literacy.

“Olam Ha-Ba (afterlife) is rarely discussed in Jewish life, be it among Reform, Conservative, or Orthodox Jews.”

“Jewish teachings on the subject of afterlife are sparse: The Torah . . . has no clear reference to afterlife at all.”

“Since Judaism does believe in the “next world,” how does one account for the Torah’s silence? I suspect that there is a correlation between its non-discussion of afterlife and the fact that the Torah was revealed just after the long Jewish sojourn in Egypt. The Egyptian society . . . was obsessed with death and afterlife. . . . In contrast, the Torah is obsessed with this world, so much so that it even forbids its priests from coming into contact with dead bodies (Leviticus 21:2).”

“The Torah therefore, might have been silent about afterlife out of a desire to ensure that Judaism not evolve in the direction of the death-obsessed Egyptian religion.”

“In Judaism the belief in afterlife is less a leap of faith than a logical outgrowth of other Jewish beliefs. If one believes in a God who is all-powerful and all-just, one cannot believe that this world, in which evil far too often triumphs, is the only arena in which human life exists.”

“According to Judaism, what happens in the next world? . . . On this subject there is little material. Some of the suggestions about afterlife in Jewish writings and folklore are even humorous. In heaven, one story teaches, Moses sits and teaches Torah all day long. For the righteous people, this is heaven; for the evil people, it is hell.”

“All attempts to describe heaven and hell are, of course, speculative. Because Judaism believes that God is good, it believes that God rewards good people; it does not believe that Adolf Hitler and his victims share the same fate. Beyond that, it is hard to assume much more. We are asked to leave afterlife in God’s hands.”

Rabbi Telushkin’s piece is really more an introduction to, than an overview of, the subject, for he too had space limitations. But I believe that he very adeptly explains why Judaism is of the opinion that there must be an afterlife. Those who wish to read more on this topic, including six classical views of life after death as well as the opinions of a number of contemporary Jewish thinkers, would do well to read: What Happens After I Die?: Jewish Views of Life After Death, by Rifat Sonsino and Daniel B. Syme.

With the variety of beliefs that have been espoused on the theme of an afterlife, one should not expect to find a single answer which can be labeled “The Jewish View of the Afterlife.” But I believe that within our tradition can be found more than one answer which can provide both comfort and hope.

Charles Dickens famously wrote, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” In some ways, that quotation describes this past month at Temple Sinai. In one sense, December was a terrible month, yet out of those dark times came many moments which exemplified what Temple Sinai is all about.

Over the past four weeks, our community has suffered the loss of seven members or family of members. Some of those deaths were to be expected because of advanced age. One, sadly, was a young woman who had valiantly fought cancer for over two

decades. We lost an icon of our synagogue, Sara Segal, who at the time of her passing was the oldest original member of our congregation. We lost Hilda Greenberg, the wife of our founding rabbi, Sidney Greenberg z”l.

So many deaths in such a short period of time were painful for me, as I know they were for Rabbi Wohl-berg. And yet, the good that we both witnessed in the aftermath of those losses was inspiring. Children, grandchildren and friends eulogizing their loved ones eloquently, both at the funeral service and in the shiva house. Community coming together to show their concern and lend their support to families in mourning, through attending shiva services, through providing meals, and by simply being there in solidarity.

It’s at times like this that I am particularly proud to be associated with Temple Sinai. Seeing people travel to New York City to pay homage to Hilda Greenberg. Hearing voices raised in response to mourners reciting Kaddish. Learning of the generosity of spirit by so many who stepped in to help the bereaved at a most vul-nerable time.

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the many capable shiva minyan leaders who always answer the call to lead services in a house of mourning; they go out of their way to make themselves available when needed to perform this act of hesed, this act of loving kindness.

This is Temple Sinai at its best, a caring, involved community taking collective and individual responsibility for the welfare of its members.

I’ll never forget something my mother, of blessed memory, said to me once when I had a dilemma: I could attend a funeral or make a shiva call, but not both – which should I do? Her answer was very wise. She said, “Funerals are for the dead; shiva is for the living.”

I believe that our congregation recognizes the importance of both, honoring the memory of those who have passed on and supporting the families in their time of grief. Though it’s the right thing to do and we should not expect to be recognized for these actions, we can still take great pride in knowing that these important values are cherished by our congregation. It’s an important part of what Temple Sinai is all about.

Edwin Altman

We’ve all heard the expression “being a pillar of the community”. While this expres-sion is frequently used to characterize individuals I think it also aptly describes Temple Sinai in so many ways.

Hundreds of events and activities go on within our walls each year, geared to the in-terests and backgrounds of our members. But as a synagogue we also open our doors regularly to a variety of community based programming.

FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK Edwin Altman

Over the past three months alone we have had our surrounding community join us for all of these special occasions: • October 18th brought us a lively group of over 150 individuals in celebration of the Boy Scouts Eagle Court of Honor • On October 25th we hosted Yom Limmud with 250 local educators gathering together • 124 people donated to the Red Cross Blood Drive on October 28th • November 4th, Primary Day brought close to 1000 voters through our front doors • On November 9th we hosted the MERCAZ Israel Education program for over 50 people • A very special evening was held on November 19th when Chloe Valdary and Naomi Adler addressed 200 people about combatting anti-Israel rhetoric • The Safrai Art Gallery from Jerusalem ran from November 18th through the 22nd featuring an extraordinary exhibit of art created by Israeli artisans • On December 20th Temple Sinai hosted the Mid Atlantic Regional Men’s Club Dinner with over 300 people in attendance honoring their Men of the Year including Heshy Stock • Auditions for our annual play, this year Mary Poppins, were held two weeks ago with regular rehearsals to begin shortly

As you can see, Temple Sinai’s reach goes well beyond those who affiliate as members. Our open doors allow us to be part of a larger community both giving and getting something in return and firmly rooting us in the tradition of hachnasat orchim, welcoming guests.

If you walk through the Ann Newman Preschool you will hear plenty of laughter and see adorable children playing, singing and learning. This is a typical day in our school except now we have some extra excitement happening in our hallways. In the next few weeks we will be transforming classroom six into a brand new Infant Care facility. On December 16th the Temple Sinai Board unanimously voted to create an Infant Care Center which is slated to open in the late spring.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION DIRECTOR Beth Rabinowitz

Today there are a high percentage of two working parents and childcare is a necessity for most of these fam-ilies. Even with the assistance of grandparents and flexible work schedules parents could require childcare as soon as six weeks after a baby is born. It can be very anxiety provoking for parents when they are leaving their infant in a childcare facility for the first time. We plan on operating a center that resembles a baby’s home filled with soft colors, developmentally appropriate toys and furniture, a cozy sleeping area, plenty of windows to make the room feel bright and airy. We will have a staff that loves and understands the needs of infants and parents. The families will become part of our Temple Sinai community.

The Infant Care Center is truly the gateway into our Synagogue. Studies have found that when a family starts in a Jewish Preschool the retention rate of staying in the synagogue is significantly higher. Friendships are made not only between the children but also the parents. The connection a family feels to the Synagogue starts early and the memories made in preschool are integral to the love of learning and Judaism lasting through a child’s lifetime.

We will be open 7:30am-6:00pm year round. If you are looking for childcare or you know someone please have them contact me for a tour. We need our members to help us spread the good news on our exciting ad-dition arriving late spring at the Ann Newman Preschool.

Happy New Year,

Beth Rabinowitz

Imagine yourself in a dark room lit only by one single candle. The environment is warm and relaxing, with a pleasant smell of spices filling the room. You are standing in a circle surrounded by your closest friends and family, swaying and humming to a familiar tune playing on the guitar. It is Havdallah, the Saturday evening ceremony marking the end of Shabbat and the beginning of a new week. You may think that I’m describing a scene from Jewish summer camp or youth group but I’m actually describ-ing the closing component of the past three Religious School Shabbat programs. These

DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION Shira Weissbach

programs, all taking place on Saturday afternoons between 4:00-5:30 during November and December, have provided our families with an opportunity to come together for learning, a hands on activity, and short Ma’ariv (evening) service followed by Havdallah. Students in Kitot Vav (6th grade), Hey (5th grade), and Daled (4th grade) have each helped to lead parts of our prayers, and the activities have been connected to either the weekly parshah (Torah portion) or upcoming holiday. Our families have made spice boxes together, decorated brownies for snacks, and even conducted science experiments all in a Shabbat-friendly format. These wonder-fully attended Saturday evening programs have all been incredibly warm, meaningful, and fun for all partici-pants, and we look forward to more in the coming months. I hope to see more of you participate, especially those of you beyond the religious school population.

The religious school teachers gathered last month for a staff appreciation lunch and meeting. The meeting fo-cused on collaborative lesson planning, trouble shooting, and program planning. We will be working together as a team to plan a fun, interactive Tu B’Shevat program for all of the students in grades Gan-Vav (K-6). I am grateful to work with such a dedicated and enthusiastic group of teachers who are committed to providing the best educational experience for all of the children in the school.

If you have questions or comments my door is always open!L’Shalom,

Shira Weissbach

DIRECTOR OF FAMILY ENGAGEMENT Shelly Shotel

A big challenge for many local youth groups is having their families value these programs. At Temple Sinai, our congregation is so lucky because we have families and friends that truly value their friendships within and outside our walls who encourage their children to be active in at least one of our many youth options for in-volvement. In many cases, the children are often in more than one youth group. Many of our kids participate in both Kadima or USY and the Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! or Shevet Achim: The Brotherhood. The kids are always so excited and so happy to be a part of these activities! For some kids, it is a great way to have them step out of their comfort zone and try new things; for others it is a chance for them to take on leadership roles and skills and for others it gives them the chance to explore their own likes and dislikes.

If your child is shy about participating, let me know and I can help him or her join in and feel really comfortable

Save the full weekend of Jan 17th – 19th of Martin Luther King weekend and Sleepover for grades 3rd – 8th. The programming for that weekend is so awesome your child will not want to leave the synagogue!

Information soon to follow!

Our Chanukah BOGO Build One and Groove On program on December 6th went extremely well. We had 25 families join us for a night filled with building bikes foster care children and children in need, Chanukah light-ing and singing, a yummy made to order Boscov’s catered breakfast for dinner meal and a on demand latke bar, all to the sounds and expert DJ experience of A Sharp Production. We even showed the Eagles game for die hard Philadelphia Eagles fans! Rabbi Wohlberg and Canter Freedman lead us in song and even dance! If you weren’t able to make it we sure hope you will plan to be at the next Family Engagement night!

Our next exciting Family engagement program will be a PURIM (which falls during this year’s Spring Break Vacation.) Please mark your calendars and save the date March 23rd, 2016! It is one night you and your family -- of all ages and all make ups--- won’t want to miss! There will be something for everyone!

Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or [email protected] if you are interested in partici-pating and or helping with these programs! If you ever want to sponsor one of our programs please let me know!

Always thanks for joining in on our programming!Shelly

Hilda had an incredible way with people. In November of 2000, she and Rabbi Greenberg moved to New York City in order to be closer to family and they joined Congregation B’nai Jeshurun. It is not surprising that Hilda became known for her ability to connect with people of all ages there too.

While in Philadelphia, Hilda and Rabbi Greenberg were devoted to their congregational family as well as their own family. They raised three daughters, Shira, Reena Keren, and Adeena. Sadly, Shira died in 1998, a terrible tragedy for the Greenberg family and, of course for Shira’s husband and children. The fact that Hilda found not only the strength to persevere, but the ability continue reaching out to others is a remarkable testament to the woman that she was.

Hilda is survived by her daughters, Reena Keren and Adeena, as well as by three sons-in-law, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who will remember her with great fondness, as will all of the members of Temple Sinai. We owe her a debt of gratitude which we can repay by following in her footsteps. How? By opening our hearts to others and by insuring that Temple Sinai remains strong because of our commitment to the con-gregation.

May Hilda Greenberg’s memory be a source of blessing.

Just a few short weeks ago, on December 2nd, Hilda Greenberg, zichrona livracha, passed away at the age of 93. Hilda was the beloved wife of Temple Sinai’s founding rabbi, Sidney Greenberg, of blessed memory, and together they devoted 57 years of their lives to the congregation. Rabbi Greenberg was legendary, and so was Hilda. Her care and concern for the members of Temple Sinai contributed in no small measure to the growth of the synagogue which began with a handful of families and grew to more than a twelve hundred families.

When Sara Segal, of blessed memory, passed away earlier this month on December 9th, our congregation lost the oldest member of our congregation, a charter member of Temple Sinai’s Sisterhood and someone who joined the synagogue with her husband in the early years of its formation.

While we have lost many devoted members of the congregation over the years, Sara’s dedication to Temple Sinai is noteworthy, in part, because of her longevity.

Sara was a Sisterhood board member for over 50 years and served as an officer on several occasions. She also attended Shabbat and Yom Tov services regularly. In recent years, if you asked her on a Shabbat morning how she was feeling, Sara would reply, “I didn’t feel so good when I got up, but now that I am here, I feel great!”’

When our congregation undertook the writing of a new Torah scroll in the spring of 2013, Sara was honored at our opening ceremony with writing the first letter in the Torah. For those who were present, that moment was extraordinary and will long be remembered.

We pray that Sara will be remembered for a blessing.

THE TEMPLE SINAI PLAYERS PROUDLY PRESENT MARY POPPINSThe supercalifragilisticexpialidocious show Mary Poppins is coming to Temple Sinai from March 9-13, 2016. Everyone is familiar with the beloved story and songbook. The chimney sweep, Bert, introduces us to En-gland in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins flies in with a change in the wind. She arrives on the doorstep “spit-spot” and, using a combination of magic and common sense, she teaches the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones who are profoundly affected. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from everyone’s favorite nanny. Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and astonishing stagecraft.

The Players have been hard at work making this show the best and most entertaining yet. So please, “step in time” to our theater and don’t forget your “spoon full of sugar.” Our large and talented cast of young and young-at-heart promise that you will enjoy this family-friendly musical. Come prepared to tap your toes along with the chimney sweeps in “Chim Chiminee,” and leave the theater humming “Supercalifragilisticex-pialidocious” and “Feed the Birds.” You may even be humming already! Tickets will be on sale in the middle of January, so check our website (http://www.tsinai.com/poppins) and facebook page for information about how to purchase tickets. All seats are reserved and discounted with advance purchase, so please buy early (and buy many!).

Our show dates/times are March 9th, 10th and 12th at 7:30 pm and March 13th at 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm. Any questions, please email [email protected]. We look forward to having you join us.

On behalf of all our Sisters in Sisterhood, Karen and I would like to start this column acknowledging our recent spate of losses. With deep sadness, we mark the passing of Carol Cohen, Hilda Greenberg, Nadine Lubarsky, and Sara Segal. All had significant roles in carrying Sisterhood’s torch. Carol Cohen was our

SISTERHOOD PRESIDENTS Liz Shamir & Karen Mann

Treasurer for 20+ years; Hilda Greenberg, late widow of Rabbi Greenberg, was Sisterhood’s Chaplain; Nadine Lubarsky was a former president; and Sara Segal, was a founding member.

Those brief descriptions do not do justice to their individual and collective contributions. Let it be said that they were Women of Valor who are remembered and continue to inspire. We hope we are doing them proud with our recent activities and our upcoming plans.

Thank you to everyone for coming to Sisterhood’s Paid Up Membership Dinner and a special “shout out” to Adam Weitz, son of long-time members Stu and Marcy Weitz. Adam of ASharp Events & Entertainment, cre-ated and mc’d a custom Quiz Show for Sisterhood that was a smashing success.

The following Shabbat, Ellen Walters led the Rosh Chodesh gathering. Together we explored the topic, Joseph: His Dreams and His Family.

• Our next Rosh Chodesh is January 9 and will be led by Elana Rivel; her topic: Our Tradition of Leadership: What our Texts Teach Us about Leadership and How Things Might Have Turned out Differently!”

Those who regularly go to Rosh Chodesh know the comradery and intellectual excitement…oh and the great lunch! Thanks again to Susan Teich, Judy Blumberg, and Donna Kamp for all the behind-the-scenes work on lunch at Rosh Chodesh and on decorating the room at Paid Up Membership.

Also coming up in January is Sisterhood Shabbat and our Tu B’Shevat Seder.

• Under the able leadership of Farrah Barrow and Amy Brody, Sisterhood will be leading Shabbat services the morning of Saturday, January 23 with a Kiddush luncheon to follow. It is always a time of pride and com-munity that is great to share with family, fellow members, and friends. Husbands are welcome and we know that they enjoy it. • The Tu B’Shevat Seder led by Sara Wenger will be held on the evening of Monday, January 25 at 7 PM in the Conference Room. Come discover and rediscover Judaism’s concrete and mystical ties to the land and the environment.

Moving on to February, it is not too soon to start getting ready for the Rummage Sale. This event has some-thing for everyone. Temple Sinai members are happy to get rid of “stuff.” A surprising amount of good will is created with the buyers who appreciate the bargains. And, of course, it is a significant fund raiser. Thank you to our amazing committee which includes Debbie Krochtengel, Cindy Horowitz, Benne Marmer, Suzan Hirsch, and Ann Vey. There are a lot of volunteer opportunities still available.

• February 7 to February 12 are drop off dates for “stuff.” Know that jewelry is already being accepted at the Gift Shop. • The Rummage Sale itself is Sunday, February 14 and the Bag Sale is Monday, February 15. So start cleaning out those closets, garages, and basements! You know you have got it!

Also in February is Sisterhood’s next Board Meeting on Monday, February 8th at 7 PM. All are welcome.

Here are a few upcoming events: the Spring Event, more Rosh Chodesh gatherings, and the Laurel Hill Ceme-tery Trip, still to be rescheduled. So keep checking your Sisterhood e-mails.

Sisterhood Social Action Update by Beth Chernoff

We collected almost 100 bras at our Paid-Up Membership Dinner, and I took five (5!) shopping bags to Hope Chest in center city. They’ll be going to Free the Girls, a non-profit that helps survivors of sex trafficking to build their own business selling second-hand clothing. Free the Girls was featured on CNN, and an outpouring of support from all over the world led to new programs launched in Af-rica and Central America. To date, FTGs has collected over a half million new and gently used bras from women all over the world – now including the women of Temple Sinai Sisterhood!

If this is a topic that resonates with you, please share your participation in this cause on social me-dia. Hope Chest always accepts individual donations to be shipped overseas; they are located at 1937 Chestnut Street. Incidentally, some women added other little items to their bags, and I thank you for that. However, if you unintentionally placed a pair of sunglasses in your bag, please email me at [email protected] to claim them. Please also email me to suggest ideas for future drives: your suggestions are always welcome!

Are we lucky or are we lucky? We Jews have two New Years’, Rosh Hashannah and January 1st. Why is that so great? It’s great because we have two times each year to take stock of our lives, to be grateful for our blessings and to tweak our actions to be more in line with our expectations of self.

May 2016 bring you and yours good health, good times, an all you wish yourself and a little bit more.

Daniela is SO excited to become a Bat Mitzvah at Temple Sinai. Daniela is currently in 7th grade at Jack M Barrack Hebrew Academy. She began her Jewish education in Preschool and Kindergarten at Temple Judea of Bucks County and then continued in Religious School at Temple Sinai before making the transition to JBHA. Nevertheless,

she is quite active in the Temple Sinai community as a member of Junior Choir, Kadima, Braiding Bunch, and Temple Sinai Players for 3 years. Daniela enjoys assisting and leading services and feels very comfortable on the Bimah. Daniela also participates in cheerleading, softball, and tennis.

For the past 2 ½ years, Daniela has volunteered her time at Brandywine Senior Living at Dresher Estates as-sisting and leading Friday Night Services with the residents. She loves her adopted Grandparents! For her “official” Mitzvah Project, she has been volunteering at “In Full Swing” to benefit A Woman’s Place of Bucks County. She feels very strongly that no woman should have to suffer domestic violence and has compassion toward the victims of abuse.

Daniela is sharing her simcha with her parents, Farrah and Larry, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and lots of friends!

Adam Gladstone son of Lauren and Jeff GladstoneJanuary 30

Adam is currently a 7th grade student at Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy. This is his first year at the school. He began his Jewish education at Temple Sinai at three years old and continues his education at the Temple Sinai religious school. He is an active participant in youth activities as well. Adam spent his summers at Camp Wigwam in

Maine and spent last summer at Camp Ramah in the Poconos.

At school, Adam enjoys math and science as well as adventure books. Adam spends his free time fencing, building contraptions and playing video games with his friends. He loves to travel, swim and snorkel.

Adam participated in The Friendship Circle MVP program and attends many Sunday events. He also partici-pates in Sunday Suppers, which provides healthy family dinners and increased access to fresh local food at the Memphis Street Academy Charter School in Philadelphia. Adam is a huge help in the kitchen and is a whiz at the dishwashing machine. Adam also packed snack bags for the organization Manna, which distributes 3,600 snack bags for after-school homework clubs held at the North Penn and Indian Valley Boys and Girls Clubs. The program supports young people in the community, providing snacks that offer the energy and nutrition necessary to power through their homework and succeed in school.

Adam celebrates this wonderful milestone with his parents Lauren and Jeff, his sisters Rebecca and Danielle as well as with family and friends from near and far.

B’nai Mitzvah

Julie Davis daughter of Meredith & Michael DavisMarch 12

Julie is a seventh grade student at Unami Middle School. She began her Jewish edu-cation at Temple Sinai when she was 3 years old. She was a member of Yad Squad for two years, and currently participates in the Rosh Hodesh group. Julie enjoys spend-ing time with friends and family, being active and going to the beach.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's Renaissance Group and Center for Israel and Overseas

are delighted to announce that the seventh cohort of Israel360 will be departing in May 2016 and will be for couples!

Israel360 is an intensive 10-day Israel experience for young professionals ages 27 to 35. We are looking for a select group of 20 couples from the five-county Greater Philadelphia region that are committed to learning about and becoming more involved in our Jewish community. During the 10-day Israeli adventure, participants can expect to experience Israel’s history, culture, politics, food, music, religion and much, much more. The cost of this trip is $360 (per individual) and includes round-trip airfare, double-occupancy hotels, tours, activities and most meals. If you know someone interested in participating in this trip, please have them submit an appli-cation online at www.jewishphilly.org/Israel360. Applications will close on January 31, 2016. Questions can be directed to the Renaissance Group at 215.832.0852 or [email protected].

For her Mitzvah Project, Julie volunteered at Cradles to Crayons. She organized donations of children’s clothing, shoes and toys, and spent numerous days with her family preparing packages for local children in need of these items.

Julie is excited to share her Bat Mitzvah day with her parents, Meredith and Michael, her sister, Amanda, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

It’s All About the Dough: The Braiding Bunch

Did you know that the challah served Friday night and after services on

Saturday is now made “in-house”?

Every Friday morning, a dedicated group of congregants gather in

the main kitchen to mix the dough and bake.

Want to learn to make challah? Call Suzanne in the main office for details.

A very special thank you for all the phone calls, emails, cards, donations and presents given to me as I received the honorary title

Doctor of Pedagogy from the Jewish Theological Seminary.Your good wishes and kindnesses are greatly appreciated

-Dr. Faith Rubin (sometimes knowns as Doctor Savta!)

I want to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all of the

Temple Sinai family for the kindness that was extended to me after my recent fall. There were countless meals; rides; phone calls and errands provided to me. Each and

every favor has contributed to my recovery in so many ways. We have a kind and caring community at Temple Sinai.

Thank you all so very much.

Sincerely,

Renee Greenberg

NOW IS THE TIME.......

Why not? Because no one knows when the need will arise. When it does, many tasks must be handled and decisions made in a limited amount of ti me.

• Contacti ng loved ones• Selecti ng and purchasing a gravesite• Making funeral arrangements• Handling the aff airs of the deceased

Now is the ti me to lessen the burden placed on your family by purchasing a gravesite for that inevitable need. Having one less decision to research and make during that diffi cult ti me is one of the greates gift s you could give them, along with the peace of mind of knowing that everything has been arranged exactly the way you wanted.

Temple Sinai has available gravesites at nearby King David Memorial Park in Bensalem, PA at reasonable costs for its members and their families.

In your hecti c life, how can you fi t in another “to do”? You may not even need it (God willing) for a long ti me. Why not put off thinking about it for now?
