Sami has gone for something new from Uruguay -GARZON RESERVA TANNAT Red Wine Winner Irish Wine Show 2019 €33.95 A juicy, full-bodied wine. Rich purple in colour with very fresh aromas reminiscent of red and black fruits such as plums and raspberries, with a delicate spicy nose. In the mouth, it presents a strong personality. Its mature tannins and minerality transform it into a wine with great soil identity.

Aashim’s selection is a long-time favourite of his -MUSEUM RESERVA, Cigales, Spain €38.95 Ruby-red colour with dark garnet glints. Delicate toasted, spicy fragrance, with hints of liquorice, red fruit and wild berries, and balsamic and mineral nuances coming through. These all mingle together in a perfect point of ripeness which confer great complexity on the wine.

Barbara found it very hard to choose. She went for something new to us -DOMAINE LAFAGE CADIRETA, France €33.95 This is quite a surprising and fascinating wine from the Roussillon region, Cotes Catalanes in France near the Spanish border. It is a Chardonnay with a ripe and opulent quite Californian style. However the wine has been fermented on the skins or ‘Lees’ of Viognier grapes. This is interesting and gives a complex nutty white floral punch, giving it a richer New World Chardonnay style.

Chaya selected a classic Sancerre -SANCERRE DOMAINE PAUL PRIEUR €48.95Aromatic nose with floral notes of white flowers. Lively on the palate, with very pleasant refreshing acidity matched by perfect fruit-weight and mineral notes. This is an exquisite Sancerre. Paul makes his Sancerre in a feminine and elegant style. Oozing class this mineral styled wine is what we’d describe as a sexy Sancerre as it kisses the mouth softly rather than using searing acidity. It is perfectly balanced.

The finish is dry and relatively long. The typical Riesling flavour is supported by its wonderful.
