The Wine Festival in Lemesos (Limassol) can be

regarded as a variant in some way; as a revival of

ancient festive manifestations of worship in honor of Dionysus, the god

of vine and wine, and Aphrodite

The Wine Festival was organised for the first time in 1961 and since then it

has become an established annual event of merrymaking and fun, in

which the citizens of Limassol are not the only participants; visitors come

also from every part of Cyprus.

Every year thousands of tourists, as well as locals from all over Cyprus,

are attracted to Lemesos (Limassol)'s Municipal Gardens to participate in the Wine Festival. The Festival takes

place in the Lemesos (Limassol) Municipal Gardens, which are

situated on the east side of the town near the sea.

Drink wine. This is life eternal. This is all that youth will give you. It is the season for wine, roses and

drunken friends. Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.
