AROMAACIDITYTANNINBODYFLAVOURPRICE
Dark red berry, cherry, herbsAliveSoft and fineMediumDark berries, herbs, floral notes & oak£50.00
Selling PointsThe vines, planted in the late 1970s, spill down a gentle north-facing slope overlooking the Moutere Valley, at the top of New Zealand's South Island. Neudord earned their reputation for concentrated, minerally chardonnay, it is their elegant and complex pinot noir which has attracted recent attention.
Tasting NotesDark, deep, ruby-red with slight purple hues. The nose is softly restrained and subdued in fruit expression, the ripe, dark fruit supported by herb nuances. The palate has a core of dark fruit with subtle earthy and herbal detail, violet floral elements and a hint of oak; good density and depth, and the flavours lead to a firm, tightly bound, dry finish.
Food MatchingPoultry, roasts, pork, lamb, lean stakes, cheese or simply on its own.
