Setting Options Before beginning any project, it is important to establish and set a number of program options. • Select the Tools menu from the menu bar at the top of the interface. • Select Options . • From the Options window, select the Advanced tab and modify options accordingly. The picture

duration and transition duration settings specify how long (in seconds) a picture or transition will last. This setting will be applied to the entire project.

Recommendations:

• Picture Duration: 2-3 seconds • Transition duration: .5-1.5 seconds

• Note: If you are using a lot of pictures and know that the default 5 second picture duration is too long, change the picture duration before beginning your project. Otherwise you can manually change them individually later.

Saving Your Project

• Select File, Save Project.

This saves the file as a movie maker project which will allow you to edit your project.

• Note: It is always important to save your project often!
