Windows Movie Maker

Before We Begin..

• One of the most important parts of this business is being a product of the product so that you can market yourself.– If you don’t have a transformation yet, it’s important that

you’re working on getting one. • Your transformation story is going to give you

credibility, therefore increasing the amount of customers and eventually coaches that join your team.

• A great way to market yourself is by releasing a video of your results.

Introduction to Movie Maker

• If you have Windows, more and likely you have Movie Maker.

• The great thing about Movie Maker is that you can add pictures, video clips, along with titles and transition slides.

Importing Pictures and Video

• Once you open Movie Maker, the first thing you’re going to want to do is import your before and after pictures, along with any video.

• Make sure you crop your pictures before you add them into Movie Maker so that your body isn’t so small nobody can see it.

• Select “import pictures” and “import video” under the “Capture Video” section in “Movie Tasks”

• See next slide.

Click on the picture, drag it down to an empty spot on the storyboard, and then release

Adding Pictures to the Movie

Adding Video to the Movie

(1) Select “Collections”

(2) Select proper video collection

(3) Drag video down to either blank spot or in between two slides

Editing Clips• There are two things that you can do: trim the clip and split it

into parts.• To trim a video clip, select “Show Timeline” above the

Storyboard.– Go to the edge of the clip you want to trim, click and hold down, and

then drag and let go where desired.– You can shorten or lengthen the duration of pictures this way as well.

• To split a video clip into two, go back to “Storyboard.”– Click on the clip you want to edit, and then go to the right where it

shows a big picture of the video.– Underneath the picture you have a button that says “Split the clip into

two clips at the current frame.” • Play that clip until you get to the point you want to split it, and then click the

button.

• See next slide.

Go to the clips’ edge, click on it, and then drag it to trim it

Video Effects

• You can spice up your movie by adding video effects.• Click on the “Tasks” panel, and then select “View

Video Effects” under “Edit Movie.”• Next, select the video transition and drag it to the

empty star in the bottom left hand corner of the picture on the Storyboard.

• You can add more than 1, and the 2 I like to always add for a smooth transition are “Fade in, to black” and “fade out, to black.”

• See next slide.

Video Transitions

• If you use “fade in, from black” and “fade out, to black” from the video effects, you won’t need a video transition.

• If you don’t use that, then you can select one of the many video transitions to make your clips flow smoothly.

• Click on the “View Video Transitions” under the “Edit Movie” section in the “Tasks” panel.

• Select transition and then drag it to the small, empty square between two clips and let go.

• See next slide.

Creating Titles

• You need to make sure you have your website at the beginning and end of the movie.

• You also want to include your social media sites as well.• First, select the clip that you want to add a title before or

after.• Next, select “Make titles or credits” under “Edit Movie.” • Then choose where you want to place the title, add text,

edit the font and color, and add animation if desired. • See next slide.

Adding animation makes it more exciting

Adding Music

• A transformation video would never be good without music!

• There are two options: 1. You can import your own audio or music. • Click on “import audio or music” under “Capture

Video” in the “Tasks” panel. • You might have copyright issues this way, and

YouTube might reject your video.

2. You can add an audio swap once you upload your video to YouTube.

Saving Your Video

• Once you have finished your video, you’re going to want to make sure you save the PROJECT. – Go to file, and then “Save Project.”

• Next, go back to your “Tasks” panel and select “Save to my computer” under “Finish Movie.”

• Once the movie is done saving, you can upload it into YouTube!
