The lot where their house is located is not their own. His father is a tenant of a small area of farm and gets 10% share from the land owner every harvest season (every three-four months). His mother has a small store in their house and sometimes she sells vegetables or fruits in the market. Being a seasonal worker, his father can only expect his meager income after the harvest season (after 3-4 months). During lean months where there are no works, they do other menial jobs in other places of the town. Due to poverty her brothers and sisters have to stop going to school. Although a transferee, Rizzy excels in her academic performance. She is so inspired now to go to school after being chosen as one of the WIMLER scholars which provided her with the things she needs in school which her parents could not afford to buy. She wants to study and hopes someday she will be able graduate in college and be able to help her family to have a better life. The teacher

informs that she notices Nariya is a bit ashamed that she has only rice no viand for lunch or no money for recess. Their home is too far from the school yet she wakes up early in the morning and walks fast because she does not want to be late.
