KNIGHT ACTION Grand Knight Report and COVID-19 Updates Worthy Brothers

As I write this article we are all in the midst of this virus epidemic and we are all reminded just how fleeting and how precious our lives are,

With Prayer and Love for our fellow man we are called to be a true knight. Let us be mindful of all those less fortunate and our Brothers in need.

With this in mind our order, our council and our mission must continue as best we can. With the much needed help from Brother John Reynolds, we will be doing a virtual online meeting (using Zoom) for our Officers and Directors on April 7th at 7 PM, and again for our Business Meeting on April 14th at 7:00 PM.

Instructions will be sent out shortly .

We will be having our elections on May 12th and nominations will be given out at the April 14th meeting. These are uncharted waters for most of us so please bear with us and we will get through this soon enough.

We are on chart for the Star Council Award in which we should all be proud. We have enlisted more transfers and members recently into our council .

I cannot and will not ask any brother to do anything that might put them in harms way but what we all can do is pray. Pray, say the rosary and make it our duty to reach out where and how you can to those who are most affected. May all of you and your families stay safe and remember our Jesus is with us always.

Vivat Jesus!

Deputy Grand Knight Report

Worthy Brothers

The last couple of weeks have been very different and trying for everyone.

I hope everyone is healthy and safe. Times like this remind us of our bond together as brothers in Christ. While often we see each other in Mass or around town - we know we are OK. Times are different.

Say a "hello" via email, a group text, a phone call. Let us know how you and your family are doing. Let us know you are interested to know about the KOFC, the church and care about your brother Knights and their families safety and well being. If anyone needs anything or knows of someone that does please share it with the group. All activities for the later part of March and April have been canceled. Social Distancing is going to be here for the balance of our Columbian year.

The Grand Knight and I through the Guidance of Brother John Reynolds will be attempting to do the all April meetings (4/7 O&D, 4/14 Membership) virtual on line. Please check your emails and if you have any questions please contact me or the Grand Knight. My wife Sue and I and our family are all healthy and safe.

How is everyone else? Please keep it up and stay in touch!

Vivat Jesus!

District Deputy’s Message - March 2020

Brothers,

What a difference a month makes! Due to the Coronavirus just about everything is on hold and movement is severely restricted throughout North Carolina. Most events have been cancelled; I’m not going to try listing them. For the immediate future please verify that any event is on before traveling to it.

Webcasts - Supreme has scheduled Coronavirus webcasts at 8:00 PM each Thursday. The first one last week was very well done and I encourage you to join in to these sessions.

RIP Lori Nussbaum - As you probably know, Lori Nussbaum, the wife of Immediate Past State Deputy John Nussbaum, has been ell for the past few years. Lori passed away over the weekend. Please keep Lori and John in your prayers.

New Degree Ceremony - We did manage to hold one new Multi Degree Ceremony on March 11th as the K of C shutdown was just taking effect. Thanks to GK Bob Benedict and the degree team of Southport Council 12537.

State Convention - The convention as such is cancelled but there will be a virtual convention on Saturday May 2nd. Full details have not been announced yet.

Please read the Tar Heel Knight and Golden Plume on the State Website for details of what is going on around NC.

April Message From Your Field Agent, Kenny Levy

The mission of the Knights of Columbus today remains the same as when it was founded in 1882: to protect Catholic families financially and to help strengthen the Catholic faith of our members.

While the current medical, social and economic issues we face are unsettling, it’s not the first time we have risen to meet such challenges. Our Order has stood strong through past crises such as the Spanish flu in 1918, the Great Depression and the financial crisis of 2008.

Just as we stood together during those times, we stand ready in our own difficult times to provide life insurance, annuities, long term care and disability insurance. Knights of Columbus Insurance agents are fully equipped and eager to help you understand how the current climate may affect your personal finances and how our products can help.

“Our commitment to helping you and your family remains strong”

- Kenny Levy

Wilmington Council 1074 Knights of Columbus April 1, 2020

Our agents can meet with you in person, talk to you over the phone (when appropriate) or through a virtual meeting using Skype or similar software. Agents are ready to answer questions, assist with service-related issues and help show you how you can reduce your financial risk.

As the Knights of Columbus turns 138 years old, it is an opportune moment to thank our founder, Father Michael McGivney, for his foresight in founding an Order that consistently provides reliable financial protection for Catholic families. You do not face the current challenges alone. Our commitment to helping you and your family remains strong.

May The Lord Keep you and all your family Safe!

Vivat Jesus!
