1103 Johnston St.Mixed-use urban design
The class was divided into groups and given a block of downtown Lafayette to redesign. After the redesign was complete we then chose a specific building which we would continue to design for the rest of the semester.

-The project is located on the corner of Johnston and General Mouton. The intent is to create a live- work environment which fits into the surrounding community.-The ground floor is meant to act as a singe space, consisting of a cafe, gallery, sushi bar, and grocery store, while also inviting the public to enjoy the atmosphere in the plaza.-The third and fourth floors have both office and residential spaces. The fifth floor is split between residential and a restaurant. -The remaining floors are solely residential, with the roof consisting of a pool, gym and both event and green space.
pedestrian bridge/ visitor center
The project called for a pedestrian bridge which would connect the heart of the campus to it’s new out lying buildings. The bridge would also act as a visitor center for people interested in the university.

Pretty / Ugly The goal of this project was to deconstruct an object that had no real value and turn it into an useful item. Mostly using only the parts from the original object. The “birdhouse” was meant to be painted and placed inside, it was never intended to actually house birds, mak-ing it a novelty and giving it no really purpose. I reconfigured the elements of the bird house into a portable storage until for pencils and drafting supplies.
Continuous Surface
We tried to create a system to give order and structure to what seems like an arbitrary and random mess.
The goal of the master plan was to extend UL’s campus to the Cajun Dome, with emphasis on student housing and community involvement.
Napkin Sketches Composition
In this project we drew quick sketches of falling water and the put them into Photoshop and made a composition.

For my site analysis I studied how the surrounding environ-ment effects empty space. The buildings scale, materiality, and program dictate the strength of the projection perceived by its occupants
[Imagine Downtown] CompetitionThe goal of the [Imagine Downtown] Lafayette competition is to bring forward new and innovative ideas for invigorat-ing Lafayette’s ur-ban core while also uniting surrounding neighborhoods and producing a 24-hour community.
