“Life to Win”.
Now we are going to see a lesson about “THE WILL TO WIN”
Introduction
How pleasant to see girls in groups along the street carrying school bags, chatting, giggling and pulling each other’s plait, adjusting the flowers on their hair, picking up the fallen flower though it is half dry . Some girls are very serious looking. They won’t talk to others-even in a group. Who knows what ails them?
Ails --- gives pain
GIRL STAR
Some will carry on with a smile
mind. They get along well with
others. They keep the umbrella
of prudence open and allow the
rain of criticism to pass by.
They are star performers. Here
is a real life story of one such
“Girl Star – Anita Khushwaha”
BED of ROSESAnita lives in Bochacha village in Muzaffarpur District in Bihar. She lives with her parents and two younger brothers. Life was not a bed of roses for Anita during her childhood. She was in poor family, due to village was affected by flood and drought. Anita’s parents unwilling to send their daughter to school
DAY DREAMING
Anita wanted to go to school. It
is a distant dream for her. She
couldn’t have the luxury of
attending even the nearest
village school. She minding the
goats that were grazing. She
was Day Dreaming about her
future
One day Anita with all her
Inquisitiveness entered the
village school. She sat behind
the children in a class. She was
thrilled. She wanted to be
different from the ‘happy at
home’ girls who always ran
errands, did the daily chores
and resigned fo their fate
Chores -- routine or boring task
PARENTS APPROVALAnita was bent on getting
education. So she spoke her
mind to her parents. She
begged and pleaded with her
parents to send her to school.
One of the school teachers
convinced Anita’s parents.
Finally Anita won her parent’s
approval
ANITA’S AIM
Getting high marks was not Anita’s aim. Getting education was her
only aim. Anita successfully completed her schooling. Then she
entered a college. She took evening classes for school children.
Using the money she earned, she paid her college fees. At first,
some older boys tried to stop the children from attending the
classes. But they couldnot do it. Children came running to their
loving Anita Dhidhi’s classes. Dhidhi -- elder sister(Hindi)
BEE KEEPINGThe real climax in this story was one
day Anita saw bees hovering around
litchi flowers. At once a new idea
struck her. She decided to do bee-
keeping and earn money. Anita
attended a course on bee-keeping.
Using her savings she bought two
boxes for rearing bees.
MORNING STARAnita continued to learn the techniques of bee-keeping. At first, Anita got stung by the bees. Her face and hands become swollen. She was ridiculed for doing things meant for men. But Anita has overcome all obstacles. She has become a wholesale trader of honey. Her efforts have helped the village to progress. This “Girl Star” has become the “Morning Star” of the village.
CONCLUSION
• The battle of the sexes is as old as the hills. In patriarchal societies, women are conditioned to accept men as the superior sex.
• But awareness, education, and life's struggles have led women to shed their inhibitions.
• Great women leaders, artists, scientists, and other professional women have inspired other women to overcome social obstacles.
