Supportive, levelheaded and calm, Will is someone you can count on when you need help, even in stressful situations.

Although reserved, he is a loyal friend who maintains strong relationships and always stands by his family. My relatives joke that Will doesn’t say much, but when he talks, he’s incredibly funny. Will, a National Park ranger, oversees children’s performances and leads hikes and nature programs. Will loves working with his hands and enjoys homebrewing, woodworking, and DIY projects. He ensures that Ben works alongside him on many projects. In fatherhood, Will’s playful nature serves him well.

Kathryn is an amazing, caring, and driven person whose planner nature makes her the family

leader. This makes our vacations and trips and even the mundane (weekly meal planning) thoughtful, fun, and fulfilling. Her work at a national non-profit that helps protect children is very important to her, and she is accomplished. A kind and loving mother, Kathryn always has time for the little things that show her great love (extra hugs or fist bumps) for our son.

Our house has a large wooded backyard with a playhouse and small pond with koi fish. Perfect

for entertaining and enjoying our friends and family often. Inside you will find many pictures, artwork, and keepsakes displayed, reminding us of those we love throughout the day. Living in a great school district and having access to a variety of community sports, classes and fun events is a big plus.

We (Will, 34/Kathryn, 33) met in college. After dating four years, we were married in 2010. Our house is in Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. We

love raising a family in such a diverse and cultured area. Our children will have many opportunities to learn about and respect different viewpoints. We find fun in visiting museums and monuments, being outdoors in our backyard, or playing at one of the many nearby parks. Travel is a priority for us. We take several trips each year as a couple and as a family. Even before we had our son, we felt called to adopt. A high-risk pregnancy with him confirmed that adoption was the best path for us to complete our family.

Our biological son, Benjamin, born in 2014, is curious and imaginative. Ben loves space and pirates and is athletic, playing soccer, tee-ball, and swimming. We talk often about adoption. Ben cannot wait to be a big brother! He saves his toys for the baby and dreams of taking him/her swimming and to the park.

Christmas with Kathryn’s family in North Carolina

W ill’s parents live in Alabama and his brother in Connecticut. Kathryn’s brother, his wife and their three children live

in Kentucky, and her parents are in North Carolina. We value spending time with our families and make trips to visit often. Both grandparents’ houses are full of adventures (one being on a lake and the other in the mountains).

Church is also a big part of our lives, and we met our closest friends there. Vacations with our friends and their children are annual events.

OUR GOAL AS PARENTS aa is to raise generous, caring children who love God. We strive to have a household where everyone feels loved and supported, no matter what. Being a fun-loving family, we find joy in doing even the small things together. In the day to day, we want to help our children learn life skills like resiliency and creative problem solving. When our children look back on their childhoods, we hope they remember that we laughed a lot and cared for each other.
