Wow, what a year! Abundant summer moisture, beautiful winter and to cap it

off, record high cattle prices, much to thank the Lord for. We hope this finds

you and your family doing well and having a good year.

A big heartfelt “thank you” to all of you who have come and supported our

sale! Lori and I would like to personally invite you to our annual bull sale April

30 at Faith Livestock. Our goal continues to be providing you with the most proven profitable

genetics available, allowing you to produce sale-topping feeder cattle; and

most of all, efficient, productive females. Every bull in our sale is out of highly

proven AI sires, taking as much risk out of your bull selection as possible.

The bulls are run on dry-range conditions with no creep feed and have been

wintered on a low-carb, high-roughage, total mixed ration.

In addition to the yearling bulls, we will also be selling 35 two-year-old bulls.

These bulls are not holdover bulls from last year, but part of our plan to offer

more two-year old bulls in the future.

We will also be offering 16 open yearling Sim-Angus heifers all sired by Olie.

In the fall of 2008, I was feeding two sets of yearling steers from customers that had used our bulls. The feedlot owner was very impressed with the cattle and their out-

standing performance, but he mentioned one thing he thought would make them even better. In his opinion a quarter Simmental in the cattle would have made them better. That got me thinking so I decided I would sample them. I approached it just like I do

the Angus breed — #1 live calf, #2 maternal, and #3 growth and carcass qualities.Olie is a highly proven, homozygous black, homozygous polled and low birth weight, purebred Simmental bull.
