What a great tradition at WECC – the Paw Pal Program matches High School Seniors with PreK students. We were introduced to our Paw Pals on Oct 15th, but met again on Friday for the last Pep Rally of the year. WECC students were presented with a button to wear with their Senior Paw Pal picture then they hugged and bubbled into the gym for the Pep Rally. We enjoyed watching the cheerleaders, Kit-Kats, Drum-Line, band and alot of holding ears because it was so …….loud. After the pep rally the seniors found their Paw Pals and then together they watched a video of their Senior Paw Pals memories through their years in PISD. We all had a great time!

Our next big event for our Paw Pals is our Polar Express Day. We all wear pajamas, watch Polar Express, eat popcorn and drink hot chocolate. We can’t wait.

Paw Pals

Veteran’s Day was celebrated by our students with the help of Ann Coleman and Evelyn Cupid from the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, WECC gave our respect to the brave men and women who sacrificed to keep our country freedoms safe. Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Cupid with the help of Thurman Harrell, IV and Isis Gray demonstrated the folding of the American Flag. During the folding, students were told the meaning of each of the 13 folds. At the end of the ceremony WECC students and staff recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you to other veterans in attendance and WECC’s own veterans Holly Foye-West and Gary Parrish.

Thank you to all our Veterans.
