Wildcat Nation News Weekly Updates from the De Soto High School Activities Department Good Morning WILDCATS! Welcome to the De Soto High School Activities Department weekly update. Follow us on Twitter! @DeSotoWildcats, #WildcatNation Last Week Varsity Scholars Bowl took 2 nd Place at the Eudora meet on last Wednesday. The team went 8-1 on the night and their team consisted of: Jaycie Thaemert, Dawson Field, Cody Moose, Emma Goldsby, Sam Siedl, and Simon Couch. JV Scholars Bowl took 2 nd Place at Maranatha Academy going 8-2 on the day. The team consisted of Lexi Marshall, Julia Cloverdale, Jack Barger, Kay Craven, and Emma Chacey. On Saturday, Nov. 14th the DHS LITE Team, a community service group at DHS, spent the morning sweeping, raking, and bagging up leaves at the Bonner Springs Animal Rescue. The shelter looked AMAZING afterwards!! The shelter runs solely on community volunteers and donations. National Honor Society inducted 44 new members on Thursday, November 19 th . Zach Yarbrough and Charlie Harris competed in the Ottawa Debate Tournament on Saturday and went 4-1 and placed 6 th . Science Olympiad competed at the “O-Town Throwdown Invitational” at Olathe East on Saturday. The team finished 16 th overall. Kay Craven placed 3 rd in “Dynamic Planet”, Cody Moose and Zach Deibert placed 3 rd in “It’s About Time.” Other students participating were Henry Cahoone, Jessica Roberts, Alysha Bell, Micah Faulds, and Jack Craven. This Week Monday, November 23 rd : - Away Madrigals: Performance at the Kaufman Center for Performance – 1:00pm - Home Scrimmage: Varsity and JV Wrestling – Green/White Night – 6:00pm (Wrestling Room) Tuesday, November 24 th : - Field Trip: Jazz Band to the American Jazz Museum – 8:30am Wednesday, November 25 th : - NO SCHOOL Thursday, November 26 th : - NO SCHOOL Friday, November 27 th : - NO SCHOOL Saturday, November 28 th : - NO Events If you would like to contribute to the Wildcat Nation News please email the Activities Director, Ryan Johnson at [email protected]. Last Week

Varsity Scholars Bowl took 2nd Place at the Eudora meet on last Wednesday. The team went 8-1 on the night and their
